fabes Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I got a fiver about a month ago. First two were way too plugged to be enjoyable. Hoping the next one is better. I had a punch corona from 08 that was really great, so maybe I'm expecting too much.
Laxman Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Just picked up a 50 cab and a box from our host looking forward to them. Always been a fan of Punch Punch. Have a few boxes from 07 and 08 that are smoking great interested to try the 2013 as people have been raving about them

One for then record book, top 10 of the thousands of boxes I have ever had. The cab will go down for 5 years minimum and it boxes smokes good fresh I will enjoy this summer ,if not they will join the cab.
johnhenry Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Not thousand of boxes of PP ,just boxes over the last 15 years.
fabes Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Ok I revisited the punch punch tonight. This one had a great draw, except the first third. After that everything was smooth sailing. Pretty tasty. I dig it! Not my first, nor second choice in this vitola, but I would never turn one down.
bigbwalls Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I've burnt through 10 of these already from an April '13 box I received not too long ago. Each one has been consistent and delicious. I'm going to purchase another box soon before all of you ****** them up!
coug28 Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 We kept hearing about a video review on these. Did that not get posted yet, or are my search skills that lacking (a possibility)??
LLC Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Have a box on the way looking forward to trying them.
Maplepie Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 i for one absolutely love any Tubed Punch fresh. The Coronations and Royal Coronations have this wicked cedar (almost honey) taste that kicks you in the ass when you reach the final third. Punch Punch is no exception. the RG is larger allowing for a cooler smoke and less ass kicking until you get down to the final third. naturally, this is why i find punch to be full bodied: because i enjoy most of them fresh! trying them aged means less ass kicking so more for me to enjoy!
poisonowns Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Have been going through a box of BRA Sep 13 like crazy -- and I usually age my cigars several years. Some sticks show their youth towards the final third, but most have flavors of peanut butter and wafers like a previous poster said. I wish I was getting peanut butter and wafers! I'm getting a good cigar but not that!
dowjr1 Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 My brother and I tried some and neither one of us were really impressed. They needed a lot more time IMHO.
PapaDisco Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Just finished my box of BAM 2013 Tubos and Rob is right, these are much better construction, and consistent as well. Not a bad draw or bad wrapper in the box. The flavors were different from those magical deep chocolate and honey Punch flavors. These were beautiful dry hay and nuts with a youthfulness in the last third that was a problem, but at least they had proper draw. The consistent, harsh bite says to me that these will be better with a bit more age on them. You can certainly smoke them young (I clearly did!) and those that like a stronger cigar likely won't be phased by the young tobacco. Those of us with 'sensitive' palates will find ourselves putting the stick down sometime in the last half. This youthful bite is not a Punch Punch problem alone, the Hoyo Epi 1's have it from last year have it too, so it's just youthful tobacco that can be cured with time.
OkieJoe Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 I have yet to indulge, but after reading the majority of these post, I may have to.
