poisonowns Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I'm interested to know what others drink with their cigars besides alcohol and coffee. I love coffee with my cigars, but don't drink it past the afternoon. I'm also interested to know what drinks people tend to shy away from while smoking. Thanks guys!

I havent found a non coffee, non alcoholic pairing that i really enjoyed. The only one that came close was San Pellegrino Blood Orange with an HUpmann. Other than that i'd love to see what other pair with.

pwhite Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Coffee is an excellent pairing. I also enjoy sparkling water, club soda or diet cola. I once found a chocolate-fudge diet soda that was interesting with a cigar, however, I have not seen it since.
Pedro2486 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Non-drinker also. I like different teas (mint, cinnamon, lemongrass etc) there's always one that will "go" with the cigar I'm smoking. Also iced coffees and homemade iced tea with some smokes is quite nice. Soft drinks occasionally especially lemon lime bitters that's my default drink when I'm at a bar, pub or party. I would really like to be able to have some single malts and premium rums with a cigar but unfortunately I have a bad reaction to alcohol (makes me ill not act like a dickhead) 1

If I'm not pairing with a scotch or armagnac, etc. then I usually default to sparkling water which is just o.k., not great. It does clear the palate efficiently but that's about it. Coke and other soda pops I do as well but too often find them conflicting with the cigar. I am also a Pu Erh tea aficionado (it's every bit as variable and finicky as cigars) but have not thought to try it with a stogie. Might give that a whirl. 1

I also like Twinnings cold brew tea,mint or breakfast or one of each in bottle of ice mountain water. Orange Vitamin water for a change of pace or gourmet root beer / grape.

GreenPosiden Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Coca cola made with real sugar is great! I definitely feel that this eliminates the tarry licorice note at the end of a cigar and turns it into caramel flavours. Can't go wrong with good ol' Coke.

I NEED to buy that other bottle of single malt!" A nice orange pekoe on occasion, but I brew mine strong. Club soda on ice with a few drops of lime juice, coke once in awhile, San Pelligrino's of varying flavours, pretty much anything. Hell I've enjoyed a tall glass of chocolate milk with a SCdlH El Principe before 1

kb20four Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 You could put a tablespoon of honey in a mug of hot water. It's like drinking warm honey. Also I've heard carrot juice goes good with cigars.
