What is the difference in flavor profile btw these two? I will eventually get some of each, but would like some input them in the mean time so as to confirm my initial purchase. Thoughts?

Punch Punch tubos - at least 3 years on it. Much more woody.

Mag 46 if it is younger than 3 years. There is no point in ageing these gits as they taste the same at 8 years or 1 year.

I definitely have to disagree with you on this one. I find the Mag46 age quite gracefully and smooth out tremendously after the 5 year mark. The true Upmann profile doesn't really show up until after 3 IMO

I agree 100% had 3 boxes from 08 that I never was not a big fan of and was going to sell them a month ago and decided to try one and was blown away. It was so much smoother and the milk chocolate creaminess was much more pronounced. Glad I try one as for a long time I could not understand why people were raving about this cigar.

So true.

8+ even better.

'04s and '05s smoking so beautifully now.

'09s still in hibernation.

I'd love to take those old, boring gits off of your hands...

That's unfortunate... I've had 2 from 06 and 2 from 08. All wereso meh. The Mag 50s are worth 50x more for the extra fiver it costs. Especially aged!

Wish I had as much luck as you blokes :(

Just bought a box of Mag 46, I have Punch Punch tubos currently. They were amazing right away (peanut butter sweetness and some coffee) but have since gone a little flat. Honestly everything in the Corona Gorda size is smoking fabulous this year. I really hope the RA sup doesn't disappear and goes into regular production.

I'm smoking a 46 from a 2011 cab.... I'm nearly halfways through the cab, and most have been tremendously good. I find that on the retro hale, I really get a beautiful Upmann serve and a long tasty finish. Plenty of smoke volume with beautiful texture, also.

Hands down Mag 46 is the superior cigar.

Was't Punch Punch discontinued in1999?

No it's still current.

I prefer the J L 1's.

My 03 mag 46's are smoking well.

My 50 cab of 11's need more time.

05's are good.

Had a db '13 punch squared last week, pretty good. My 05's were very good.

I like mag 46's over the punch, yet both Marcas overall age well. The cab punches IMHO have a bit more body than the db counterparts.

I would choose the upmann but they are quite different from each other.

No love for exhibicion 3's or slr serie A,

or the d/c ed RG CE?

I stand corrected - it is discontinued

Did you mean is or isn't?

I stand by skyfall.

don't know a single vit. that's discontinued between the years of 1998 and 2001 due to the cigar boom. That would've made no sense for habanos. Sides, we all know they were making sense until just about those years, eh? ;)
