Ryan Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 A couple of years ago I was walking into the Hotel Nacional. There was a guy outside sitting under a tree on a pile of horse manure. He was selling it. As I walked by he called to me, "Cigars? Cohiba?" At least he made no secret of where he was getting his materials.
Cisco Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I'm sure there are many of these photos on craigslist, etc. Here is a local guy selling his humidor "full of cubans" as he is moving to the States. The boxes of "cubans" can be seen in the back.... BTW, he seems to be only selling the humidor...strange. 1
Mtlpadron Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Was just on kijiji looking at humidors and stumbled upon the exact photos RYE posted, it make my giggle http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-other-new-year-gift-W0QQAdIdZ555246599 1
Hiroshiro Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 http://instagram.com/p/ijpXVRiRMO/ WtH! REALLY!?!?!? 1
jpn Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 These are great. There was a guy walking around at Notre Dame this fall during football season selling "Cohibas" out of a glass top box. Sold them for $10 a cigar and when he ran out, miraculously the box was full again 20 minutes later. It was amazing how many suckers bought them. I saw that guy at a game. When he tried to sell them to my nephew I laughed and told him they were fake. He wouldnt even look at me and walked away.
laficion Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 So, That's why the N.C.'s are better then Cubans. Now everything Is clear.
Trevor2118 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 So question... does cohiba package any cigars in single cardboard packages? i.e. one cigar in one square cardboard box rather than in a tube. Many do or did. Full packaging details here: http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/info-packaging.htm#Cigar_Finishing
Cmontoya79 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 So, That's why the N.C.'s are better then Cubans. Now everything Is clear. Yes, seriously. Many an idiot has bought this garbage and smoked it to say... Meh Cuban cigars are nothing special or completed crap. Duh, you smoked a fake who knows what, if even it was tobacco.
finecigar Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 http://instagram.com/p/iY3pJCiQGk/ GAH! The "Selection" made me giggle
Rye Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 Sometimes, they don't even try, and yet people still buy. Tubos anyone?
Bclass1 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I love this thread so far. As stated earlier by others, I used to try and lend a helping hand to those who have been cheated into believing they have purchased a real Habano but they're denial and ignorance usually gets in the way of a simple end result. My thing is, why post if you are truly unsure of what you have?
Habana Mike Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 http://instagram.com/p/ijpXVRiRMO/ WtH! REALLY!?!?!? Come on. Those Warranty Seals they included in the boxes have barcodes and everything!
nikesupremedunk Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 This reminds me of an incident on FB. A mutual friend was smoking what appeared to be a real CC from the small cell phone pic so I wrote a comment about it and some guy PM's me asking if I want to buy some CC's. He sent me pics and while they didn't look as obvious as some of these, they were fake. I didn't want to offend the guy, but politely told him they are not authentic and then of course he got defensive, telling me I shouldn't "hate" and say they're fakes if I can't afford to buy it. I had a good laugh that night and deleted the PM.
melies Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Thanks the universe that this guy got real cohibas from his girlfriend, not fakes
Rye Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Ooo, that's the first RA that I've seen yet! Nice find Melies!
potpest Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 This thread, well mainly the hashtags, has made my day... classic. Ignorance is bliss
Rye Posted January 1, 2014 Author Posted January 1, 2014 Ahh, a new year full of the finest Faux. Many people welcomed in 2014 with blissful ignorance to what they were smoking. I hope they enjoyed them! Possibly the nastiest wrapper I've seen yet... I hope he doesn't buy his Nikes from the same guy!
