El Presidente Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 5 Things We learned about Habanos SA this year 1. Timing of Releases is a "guess". Here's a hint to the Habanos honcho's....if you announce something at the Habanos Festival....have it ready to go to market in March/April.....not November/December Ok if that is too hard, time it with the Buccaneers exit from playoff contention each year....August 2. Big is Beautiful! They keep getting bigger and more expensive. While the market continues to snap them up the trend will unfortunately continue. 3. Limited actually means Limited The days of LE's sitting around for 4-5 years appear to be over. Try finding a RA Extra or Monte 520 at your local tobacconist/LCDH. They may not be numbering the LE boxes but they are certainly keeping production down. 4. The $20 LE looks here to stay. Production may be down but pricing is up!. They did their homework on this one. Someone is smiling all the way to the bank. 5. Habanos s.a...Arrest Free For 400 Days I think they should put it on their website! Unless I am wrong, they have gone a full year without anyone internally being arrested for fraud.

CaptainQuintero Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 #6- pretend you are relaunching Vegeros in biscuit tins and watch as customers scramble to buy up this years premium ELs in a blind panic
SCgarman Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I think you can thank #2 due to the US marketplace. Obviously the big 6x60 sizes and the like in the US is having an influence on HSA marketing bigger, fatter cigars regardless of the fact they are prohibited. I don't see any other cigars markets in the world touting these large ring gauges. Maybe I am wrong. But somebody is obviously liking 'em, definitely not me. I surely hope they don't keep putting smaller sized vitolas on the chopping block. JMO

The bigger the Cohiba, RyJ, or Montecristo, the better (my experience over 30+ trips to China). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Duxnutz Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Middle East too. Every time I'm there everyone has a Siglo VI sized smoke in their hand. Makes for decent aged stock however!
polarbear Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I wonder how long it takes before a "Really Wide Churchill" hits the market at 65rgx7in I know the yanks are loving the 7x70 craze ATM. Personally, having to smoke a 70rg stick is my idea of a special kind of hell...

finecigar Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Interesting year it seems... Not many come to a surprise to me! Haha

Don't own a single robusto or anything fatter.

Don't own a single robusto or anything fatter. WOW!!! And i thougt that I was the only one, though I must admit that I still have most of a box of '02 D4s bought fresh. My first and last box of robustos. Every couple of years or so, when I feel like punishing myself, I smoke one. Still, I can understand HSA's motivation. How else could they dump excess supplies of relatively tasteless volado at such high prices?
MontrealRon Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 And I still wonder when we will hear about the newest release, "the Cube" - 4" x 256 RG!
TM-US Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I agree. I avoid anything over 50rg but have smoked siglo vi, Monte ge and some others around 52rg
