Rob, last time i checked North America includes Canada the USA and Mexico . Canadian Thanksgiving is in October and Mexico does not celebrate this holiday.

This. Having Thanksgiving turkey back to back with Christmas turkey is madness! You need a month inbetween to have gone through all your leftovers, sandwiches and soup.

We are on Cape San Blas. My wife, our famous red longhaired standard dachshund Luke. He is 37 pounds of solid rock and is now grand champion.

The last 2 days we have been surf fishing. Catching lots of pompano, red fish and whiting. Then the weather moved in and the fishing was done.

Thus, we went over to Apalachicola were we found the most succulent briney oysters. Very tasty. Then walked around this old fishing village sucking on a 06 RASS.

Have a few friends coming to the beach house for lamb, turkey and all the fixings tomorrow.

Life is good. Great wife, dog, friends and lots of food and drink. And fine cigars too.

Wishing a happy Holiday to all.

Off to Northern Idaho! Taking my son to my brothers house to do a little hunting, and enjoy a ranch style Thanksgiving with my Brothers family.

Thanksgiving up here in Canada is in October, so happy Thanksgiving to all our American members. Since I am on my own during the week some days up here in the forest, I am very thankful for this group and my wonderful cigar collection. I can think of nothing more civilized than a cigar by the fire around 3pm and later around 8-9. When Matthew comes up on Friday, we enjoy a smoke together.

We talk about how fortunate we are, the ways of the world, news and how we can help our children.

Sending the same out to you guys,

CB

Every year we cook a scratch meal for about 225-250 people in my kitchen for thanksgiving. It's the craziest and busiest time of year and I love it. I always take off on Friday and collapse and smoke the best cigars that I can.

Stuffing, cranberry sauce, root vegetables and pumpkin pies are all done (50 of them). Tomorrow it's breaking down turkeys, gravy, de-boning hams, apple pies, peeling 2 cases of potatoes and getting all else tight. I'll take some pics tomorrow and Thursday and post them.

Providing a meal and a day like this for people who can't do it for themselves anymore gives me enormous satisfaction and inspiration. I'm really grateful to be able to provide it. Thanks for the post Rob. All the best for everyone on Thanksgiving.

Man, how big is your kitchen! That's pretty phenomenal, kudos to your generosity!

Happy Thanksgiving all....

^ thanks...it's a professional kitchen. I'm a working chef. Kitchen is pretty big but poorly designed. Staff of 30 and every hand is needed...here's a start to getting it underway

Currently going to my wife's aunts house, which we have for the past 5 or so years. Great times and my daughter loves playing with her cousins. Hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday!

Will be at my Aunt's house with the entire family. There will be a total of 30 people; fortunately the number of adults just beats out the number of children...phew. It's generally just plain ol anarchy and pandemonium for six hours.

There will be eight of us, 13 pound bird, 3 bottles each of Domaine Carneros 2009 Brut, Mieomi pinot noir, D'Arenberg Hermit Crab, beer, stout, stuffing, spuds, yams, green bean casserole, brussel sprouts and then things get hazy.

Here is the last known photo from last year:

I love this time of year, because starting tomorrow through the new year my BIG family is in cook mode. With a Mexican-American background (although for those of you that have seen a picture of me, you would never guess it!), we mix traditional American with southwestern Mexican. So tomorrow's lineup looks something like this...

Turkey, Ham, Yams, mashed potatoes, etc.... ALSO, tamales, refried beans, salsa, Spanish rice, and posole or menudo depending on the house. I promised some of you a few recipes, and I will absolutely get to them...

My pictures will come tomorrow on the day, because tomorrow is gonna be a particularly special day. To be continued...

Until then, plz be safe, smoke/eat/drink well, and have a wonderful day!

Thanksgiving here is the start of our holiday season. I love this season, starting with Thanksgiving, followed by Christmas and then my birthday/New Year's Eve!

My wife and I spend the day at home cooking(baking cookes, etc.) and enjoying the day watching classic holiday shows with the dogs. It also is followed by putting up the Christmas decorations!

This year we have much to be thankful for. Had successful prostate suregery 11/8. So am recovering.

Happy Holidays to one and all!!!

^ thanks. These pics are from my favorite time of the day- the calm before the storm. Here is where the pics end. Haha...during service it is intense so there's no more time after this...this dining room was one of six that we served at the same time...anyway, we had fun and I hope everyone that celebrates today did too. Time to put my feet up and smoke and daydream.
