Man those 1966's were good fresh. Should have smoked them all. They suck now. My OR BHK 54 are to die for and seem to have legs for days.

It's probably reasonable to assume that the 1966 like all other ELs has a short life span eg what the Cohiba Sublimes are starting to do now; the best is behind them. So for long term I'd go the 54.

1966. Have thoroughly enjoyed the handful I've managed to get my hands on. Found it to be a "don't disturb me" cigar.

1966 in a heartbeat!

Managed to just buy another box so I'm not left short.

BHK54 are great...and you can always get more.

I'd go with the '66s. Treat them right and they'll last. And they are mighty fine... ;-)

Agreed. Great point Paul.

Really tough choice. Both are very different. The 1966 had that rich EL tobacco taste while the BHK is more refined. I'd go with the BHK 54 (I've only had the original release). There's no cigar like it.

I have 3 boxes of 54's, 1 box of 56 and one box of 66's. All sleeping for a while. Love both of them but I believe the 54 will shine in 2-3 year and become what the sublime are now!

BHK 54

The 1966 is a very good cigar, the 54 is a unique and superb experience!

The last OR 54 I had was a MMJ experience. (don't ask) innocent.gif

Both 1966 and Behike 56/54 are my favourite smokes...

The Cohiba 1966 I'm my experience is a fuller bodied smoke and suits a "particular mood", whereas the 54 is a more creamy everyday smoke.

If I had to pick one it would be the Behike 54 as it is sustainable and there is usually one in a box that is pure heaven...the rest can often be decidedly average.

Both have been my 2 most disappointing cigars yet, mainly due to the price. For $25-30, sure they are good cigars but at 45-50 a stick, not worth it.

I do like the 1966 a bit more though.

If you buy singles they are far more expensive than that..... A 66 at LCDH is 80+ for a single. Here in sask, can if you can even find a 66 they are 100-120 Canadian dollars for a single.

Probably time to revisit but the OR 54's are really on a different level.

I have 1 box, 8 left.. They are truly on a different level. These are only special occasion smokes for me.. I'd pull one out of my 12' BHK 54 box before I touch those if if was feeling an inclination to smoke one.

I think tho you can't count an OR 54 and a regular 54 together. OR 54>1966>Regular production 54

Smoked a 1966 tonight, very underwelming. Had a very right draw to start, but it opened up. Tasted like generic LE tobacco. Similar to the bad monte 520 I've had. Had a good burn though.

1966, but I prefer the Cohiba PE more than either.
