stogieluver Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Sitting here smoking the last of the three of these I brought home from Havana last year. I'm really enjoying this smoke. I don't know the box codes because I bought these as singles at the LCDH at the Habana Libre. I never see any mention of these cigars on this forum, and I'm wondering why.
Sutton Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 You see them once and a while in LFTH , usually in 10 ct. I love them, but there no substitute for the P1's.
ramon_cojones Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 these are great if you don't like a lot of flavor other partagas I much prefer are d4, 898, p1, presidente
olotti Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 I've really enjoyed all the P2's I've smoked. While not as full as the 898 or D4 the P2's have a more christmas spice cake element to them that I enjoy, while still maintaining elements of Partagas. I still prefer the 898 then D4 but the P2's offer a nice change while still claiming some elements of the marca.
bresdogsr Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Only had two I got in a trade. Remember them as mild, but enjoyable.
saintsmokealot Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I've had beautiful P2's and some very lack luster P2's. Still chasing the memory of what was regardless of how unsuccessful.
Pilgrims Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I've had a very good hit rate on these, love them
Dbone Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I agree, the P2 are on the lighter side of Partagas. Last night I had a P2 from and '09 HQ box, it smoked very well, creamy and light pumpkin pie spice. Maybe my last couple cigars have been poorly blended, but I remember them delivering stronger and more defined flavor when they were new.
riazp Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Not a huge fan of these, I'd much rather smoke a VR Unicos or Upmann 2 in the cuban pyramides selections...Although I'm a huge partagas fan..i was hoping for more from these
jazzbass Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I too consider these to be on the lighter side of Partagas although I've run into people who consider them to be strong enough to blow the top of your head off.. I'll dig my heels in on that though, I've smoked many and really believe that there are much stronger Partagas cigars on the market.
Habana Mike Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 are P1 still out there? Very, very few still on market. Those jars went pretty fast. Smoked a couple, would love to get more - intact jar in my dreams!
ajgagnon Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Somehow the first inch or so of a P2 just doesn't come alive for me. But then a transition happens and they burst into being. You end up with about one good third (or maybe half), it seems, and during this third they can produce some awesome flavours. To me they can be rewarding but they can also leave you wanting if that first part doesn't wake up. I still save them for good occasions.
bamadoc77 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Smoking an original release 05 as I type. Deeeeelish!
sharks Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 are P1 still out there? Yes and very tempting to go again with those they were fantastic
sharks Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 If someone feel confortable, please, PM me to let me know where I can find P1 jar. Check ur mail
galtline Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Tried them liked the Series D better. Looking to try the 8 9 8's
kevfi Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Haven't tried them. D4's and shorts are gr8. Are these truly lighter?
Hiroshiro Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I have two Boxes of these. I give them to my friends who aren't big cigar smokers. They are Mild to almost medium in my experience. They are an easy smoke but I enjoy them
bamadoc77 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 05's are much stronger cigars than 06 thru current. I believe I heard the blend totally changed in 2006 because people did not like the 2005 initial release. Fast forward a years and now the 2005 I think is a stellar yet strong cigar.
