El Presidente Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 We have some of the following RE's coming in during the next few weeks. For our Canadian members who have smoked them, let us know your experiences with them JUAN LOPEZ SUPREME - CANADA RE 2011 RAMON ALLONES SUPER RAMON - CANADA RE 2011 VEGAS ROBAINA XV ANIVERSARIO - CANADA RE 2012
Rye Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 The Juan Lopez were crap IMO. Very boring cigar and not nearly as good as the regular line. The Super Allones are great, but still need time before they reach their peak. The XV Anni's are incredible. ****** them up!
nikesupremedunk Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Looking for tips on where to shop when I go up for the Toronto Megaherf. Where can I pick up a couple of the Super Ramons and the VR Anni's?
Rye Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 This was my take on them awhile ago. They are even better now. http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113818&st=0
Puros Y Vino Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 JLP - Very good cigar. Getting better over time. Floral & fruity notes. RA Super Ramone. Excellent cigar! One to put down and age. Great from the start, also improving.Loads of familiar RA notes. Stewed fruit, hints of cayenne pepper. Stunning cigar. VR -XV. Very new. The two I've had have been good but not too great. The Sublime vitola is a win, the tastes need some time to develop. Some coffee and tangy tobacco are what I taste the most.
Habanakane21 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Thanks Frank. Very informative. I've had 2 Super Ramons last year and I thought they was fantastic. I've been saving the few I have left....but maybe...just maybe I'll pick up box if the price is fair. I also had a JL Supreme. Nothing really to right home about. Very floral like you said. I'd be interested in the VR's for sure. Can't wait to see what Prez has in store for us.
in0gravity Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 speaking of the Canadian RE's. Does any Canadian Member know what this years RE will be? Thanks Lars
alloy Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I have two Super Ramones left out of a fiver that I received. Awesome smoke with all the RA flavors that needs a long time commitment to enjoy.
nikesupremedunk Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 What are the prices like for the RA and VR at the LCDH?
stargazer14 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Nice timing on this, I was just asking a few members about the Can RE's. Look forward to trying the RAs and VRs.
canadianbeaver Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Love collecting and smoking all, but have not had the 2012 yet. But must say I am a bit biased.
Kruz Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Speaking of Canadian Regionals. Anyone have the Bolivar Simones from 2008?
Drguano Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I have enjoyed the Super Ramone and I am doomed. So much for the household sequestration. If my wife finds out that I am buying more cigars, substitute 'cas' for 'seques'.
ChanceSchmerr Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I normally love Juan Lopez RE's (except the Obus) but the Supreme wasn't overwhelmingly good. It was good enough that I think it would improve in time. I tried a Super Ramon ROTT - didn't impress me. However, I am desperate to give it another shot - RA's normally never disappoint and everyone else seems to love them. Havn't tried the VR yet......... Looking forward to you getting these in, Rob!
Rye Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Speaking of Canadian Regionals. Anyone have the Bolivar Simones from 2008? I have smoked many of them, and they are really smoking well now. It's a shame the 50 cabs are so hard to find now.

ramon_cojones Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 since I'm RA for life I need some super ramons, don't care about the time commitment as I have plenty of time for smokes
karmaz00 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Speaking of Canadian Regionals. Anyone have the Bolivar Simones from 2008? awesome cigar IMO

maverickdrinker Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 The Juan Lopez were crap IMO. Very boring cigar and not nearly as good as the regular line. The Super Allones are great, but still need time before they reach their peak. The XV Anni's are incredible. ****** them up! X2
