Blakes Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 A day of cigar gluttony today... I received my HQ easter sampler order in the post this morning.. an amazing selection of smokes from the lads... and lasses. So.. before the postman had got off my drive i grabbed the "dog n bone" and rang my mate who without a second thought decided to sack off work and come round to sample one.. which turned into two, then three.. and then a fourth all in all a 6 hour straight cigar session, each cigar better than the previous and the last quite possibly the best cigar to date, at least in my top two. Anyway needless to say me and my mate were looking abit pale by the end. Sometimes the unplanned days turn out the best. The cigars we smoked were.. Upmann Mag 48's, HDM Epi #1's, SP Non-Plus and Punch Sabrosos (the Punch were unbelievably good, both tasted like what dreams are made of... LOL) I very rarely if ever smoke 4 in a day, let alone one after another... So as well as sharing my day with you all it got me thinking about other FOH members days when they just couldn't say "NO" How about your cigar gluttony days?
CaptainQuintero Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Awesome stuff, the Sabrosos are fantastic cigars just flying under the radar!
LLC Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Like a lot of my brothers, when in Havana everyday is a day of gluttony
Charltonc Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I smoke at least one a day and prefer to smoke cigars back to back on the weekends.
AndrewNR Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I often feel a bit green after smoking a cigar so I scarcely have had two in a day, I'm the 1 a week max kind of guy Sounds like you had a very enjoyable day however.
Jeremy Festa Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Sounds glorious! The most I have ever had in one day is 3. It was at the Harvest Festival, here in Brisbane. It's held in the Botanical Gardens, and the 2012 line-up was pretty sweet. My day went like this, Mike Patton's Mondo Cane with a Sancho Panza Non Plus. Wandered between a bit of Beck and Ben Folds Five with a Cohiba Magico. Then there was a massive hail storm, which thinned the crowd significantly. Then Grizzly Bear and Sigur Ros with a Por Larranaga RS RE Andorra. It was an awesome day!
El Presidente Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Sometimes excess is a beautiful thing! .....then again you could end up feeling the way I do today after yesterdays "long lunch"
jrb5783 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 5 one day at the Toronto herf last summer 01 RASS RA Extra LE 11 Trini Robusto T LGC Swiss Regional 05 Cohiba Lancero I was smoked out after that
Ophidion Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Biggest cigar gluttony day was at the Toronto herf last year: I forget the order but: 2001 RASS 2010 dip 4 Custom roll corona at the herf by whoever was rolling Boli ESP 2 Cohiba CCE (best of the lot) I was sick as a dog the next few days from the nicotine poisoning
dangolf18 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 I onetime smoked a BHK54, BHK56, 2 Siglo I, Montecristo No.1, and Davidoff 3000 tubos in the same day.
canadianbeaver Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Last night at the Toronto Herf dinner there were lots of us chain smoking (even during dinner) from 6 til probably close to midnight I imagine. I konked out around 10:15. I smoked a Siglo 3, Upmann LE 2012 Robusto and a RG lonsdale. I had a Monte 5 cut and ready but I just could not smoke any more...
jimb2u Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Sounds like a perfectly balanced day. Great smokes with a mate and 4 cigars in 6 hours can either be an endurance event or they are all so good in different ways that you don't even notice the time going by.
Pilgrims Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Good work...all about seizing the moment, don't think i've ever done more that 3 in one day but the bar has been set high here!
ironchefscott Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I think the most I have smoked in a day was 4, But that was back before I was shown the CC light. I think perhaps I can push it a bit more without palate killing tendencies of NC;s
