CaptainQuintero Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Always hated her after she ruined Austin Powers 3, she made Elvis' acting look Oscar worthy
finecigar Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 I just wish that I had the money to go - When I go, I want to explore and not be tied to any 'people to people' group. Unless that people to people group where Prez, Smitty, Ken, and the rest from here. My thoughts exactly! I hope I can make it there at least a few times in my life. But for Beyonce and Jay Z, they look happy and natural- not how you see them in the media in the states
Nino Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 OK, just found this video and I must say : she looks OK and he smokes cigars - but they sure are not on a "People To People" mission but rather enduring a "People To Masses" circus in Havana ... http://www.youtube.c...&v=knEZ0IfYs3U#!
Hubba Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 A friend of mine just got back from a week in Havana at the Saratoga. This is where JayZ was staying the past week too.....i guess after everyone caught on that they were staying there it was a complete gong show trying to get in and out of the place. Not only that, the rooftop was closed two days for "private functions". Nice....drop the coin to stay there only to find out you can't use go up to the roof cause Jayz and Beyonce are playing Marco Polo.
canadianbeaver Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 This is the best... http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/us-lawmakers-seek-details-on-beyonc-and-jay-zs-trip-to-cuba/article10828169/comments/

stogieluver Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 My wife and I went to Cuba last October with a group under a "People to People" license. The trip was organized by our local Chamber of Commerce and was one I'll never forget. The company that had the license made the paperwork a breeze. Very easy.
khomeinist Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Hopefully this trip aides the end of the embargo somehow. I am not holding my breath.
mk05 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Hopefully this trip aides the end of the embargo somehow. I am not holding my breath. Haha. Maybe the new hiphopworldstar generation will make a liberal movement to end the embargo. Saying how it's such a travesty, how they are entitled to go to Cuba, it's their right alongside living off my taxes and all that. 2 people went to Cuba! One had crazy hair like she was going back to zion, and the other wore shiny polo shirts. Leave the couple alone. Christ.
khomeinist Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I was thinking more of their unofficial 'cultural ambasdador' role vis á vis their relationship with Obama. I have no opinion on your 'occupy' extrapolation. I do agree that the negative posts are a bit silly.
Hubba Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I didn't see anything too negative....are we here to look at the pictures or is it a discussion thread??
mk05 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I was thinking more of their unofficial 'cultural ambasdador' role vis á vis their relationship with Obama. What relationship does the rapper, who talks about b*tches and drugs, and the president of the United States have? Or rather should have? Maybe they became friends at the basketball court Obama had built in the white house.
khomeinist Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I have no idea the full extent of their relationship, but it does exist. I also have no opinion about such a relationship. Precious Ronnie (a movie star let us not forget) had his own stable of celebrity friends as well. Most major politicians do. Your characterization of rap seems very Fox News. Enjoy!!
Dara Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 They'll get slapped with a fine for going to Cuba without a licence. Most likely this will be a lot less than the fine Jim Belushi got for attending the 2012 Habanos festival as the guest of honour which was USD200k (a lot more than his attendance fee I'd imagine). I would say that Jay Zs private jet was gone through with a fine tooth comb upon Landon back in the US and any cigars were confiscated....he'll just have to start buying his cigars from Sven!!!
Ryan Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Dennis Rodman went to North Korea recently. It doesn't seem to have improved relations much. I don't see anybody giving out about that.
Cohiba Stevie Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 What relationship does the rapper, who talks about b*tches and drugs, and the president of the United States have? mk05 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Absolutley rediculous... *ridiculous Before anyone dives off the deep end, I meant they may have just met playing basketball, since he has invited a lot of people there.
mk05 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Dennis Rodman went to North Korea recently. It doesn't seem to have improved relations much. I don't see anybody giving out about that. Probably because Dennis Rodman is the best "celebrity" NK can afford to get? And by afford, I mean people who are crazy enough to go.
OZCUBAN Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 .he'll just have to start buying his cigars from Sven!!! I thought he already did
OZCUBAN Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 While I cannot state the intent of another... I see you saying it as you see it. I see it the same way sadly. You act in a movie, you become an expert. Hell, Robert Redford is making movies of groups of murderers where individual members are canonized and made professors at Universities! I have little faith in celebrities. We need more enthusiasts smoking cigars and sharing the experience at all levels; celebrities or otherwise and I tip my hat to all my cigar smoking brothers and sisters. -
Nino Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Found this and just heard my first rap song and first Jay Z song ever as well - a bit repetitive to my ears, couldn't understand 80% of it ( except the expletives :-) ) only thing I got was : "I'm in Cuba, I love the Cubans" which I agree with wholeheartedly. The thing I really loved though, was THIS open letter on that site - I agree 150% with the guy that wrote it : http://globalgrind.com/news/open-letter-jay-z-and-beyonce-about-cuba-trip-michael-skolnik Bravo - Well said !
srsMichael Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 regular americans cant go cuba without jumping through a million hoops. jay most likely decided i want to go to cuba, decides to call obama, obama says no problem bro, jay z hops in the private jet goes to cuba no problem. if you dont think jay z will bring back whatever he wants you are naive. bottom line: Im jealous.

There's more -- "I can turn Havana to Atlanta ... ballin’ too much they try to jam you." Read more: http://www.tmz.com/2.../#ixzz2QBNMW7w4 Be careful what you wish for! Cheers -R

Cheers -R Thanks for the warning. Don't really know what jammin' or ballin' means, too old and guess I'm not into it, whatever it is, but that "Turnin' Havana into Atlanta" text sure frightens the bejeezus out of me ... another place ( peachtree :-)) I don't need. Cancel the Atlanta part before Havana turns non-smoking, fat, dead & boring
