While I haven't had any recent stock Lusis, the 2012 898s I've tried were impressive for their age.

Partagas 898's are ALWAYS superb and right on target. Heavy, decadent, enjoyable and flavorful, giving us that Cuban "twang" flawlessly everytime. Plus, who always has time for a 2 and a-half hour smoke, i.e. Lusitania, anyway??

Can't say that I've had a Lusi in a few years now. But I can confidently support buying the 898's. I love them and had quickly moved from buying 10 packs to full boxes in no time! You will too!

For me 898s have delivered much better flavors while the Lusis have always been good they have never been amazing.

898. Better flavor imo. Lusis are too large of a cigar for me and honestly they are weak sauce in terms of strength.

Really enjoy Lusi's, but think 898 are more 'appraochable', meaning its easier to reach for them, easier to find the time and a reason to smoke. And they are also really good!

I'm only familiar with the pre-1995 versions of these, and both tie for first place - equally enjoyable, but different. (The blends were apparently changed afterwards.) So I can't vote!

You may be able to get Lusi for a while. But if rumors are true the 898s may be hard to come by in the next few years if they make the discontinued list this year.

I didn't want to jump the gun just in case they were for another Stevie or Steve lol. I hope I didn't cause any hassle Rob if this is the opposite.

I have placed an order for a box of 898s anyway which I'm sure I will be more than happy with.

Completely different cigars. 898s are much stronger & have more of a pepper flavor. I used to love the pre 95 Lusis, but the only ones since then I thought were above average were early to mid 2008. I've smoked a few of every year 1997-2010.
