Orion21 Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 CoRo (Why spend almost twice as much as most other Robustos for this?) Hoyo Epi Espeicales (so boring) Dress box BRC (Tubo BRC are stellar)
stigmata Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Interesting topic. Personally i like almost all of them . Some are varied construction wise.I wouldnt say i was underwhelmed by any cigar if i have had them multiple times The odd one can be a disappointment..
santela Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I'm not very experienced, but here's what's been dissapointing for me so far: JL2: really wanted to like this cigar, but the cab I have sitting in my humidor is just bland, inconsistently rolled. Petit Edmundo: I got a beautiful box with dark oily wrappers, and I love the short and chubby size, but the flavor isn't doing anything for me.
Pedro2486 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 What would be great is if those who posted in this thread could maybe revisit their comments and see if opinions have changed. I think that would be pretty interesting 1
daeji5 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 What would be great is if those who posted in this thread could maybe revisit their comments and see if opinions have changed. I think that would be pretty interesting +1. Fantastic idea. Especially those that had negative experiences with JL2.
danielmgibbs Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 yeah the JL2's Ive had in the last year have been pretty much consistently epic! 1
ogus Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 For me, I'd have to say Cohiba Siglo VI. A lot of variability there, and none have really blown me away. Similar, Partagas SDN4 and SPN2, if you don't get them rich and dark and oily, again with the variability, they seem to be very blah if you don't get the right box. On the other hand, those that aren't enjoying their Trini Robusto T's can feel free to PM me.... same experiences
Diamondog Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Revisiting thoughts.....Concur with what I said originally, especially with the Parti GR....I have smoked a few and what bunk thus far... 1
El Presidente Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 If you don't like Lusi's from the get go....the PGR is unlikely to ring your bell. Different strokes, different folks. This thread has some great cigars ...including the Lusi but if they don't resonate to your palate then there is little to do. I have always struggled with Partagas D5 and most ERDM excluding CX.
Skyfall Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 ....disappointment? PLPC BRC (other than some tubos, they have all been wind tunnels) HUHC HDM Regalos Cohiba Secretos Punch - across the board, except for D'Oro.
asmartbull Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Everything RYJ except the 04 EL Cohiba Maduro's sent while mobile....
straizor Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 RyJ whole line except the ex.4 and the cazzies PL whole marca with no exeptions. don't like the flavour profile at all.
Lotusguy Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I revise my opinion about the Boli Quinta Avenida. Everything else still stands.
Diamondog Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 I have always struggled with Partagas D5 and most ERDM excluding CX. Hi Rob, thoughts on the Infantes?
sw15825 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Epicure #2 I just dont get. I dont like Hoyo in general. RYJ SC. BLECHH! M2 and D4 that is not rolled in the Mother factory. Also I have not had great luck with Monte in general. M2 was great fresh, Edmundos too, but have been boring of late. I dont know who there blending these for. Maybe I should try customs with some double Ligero I hear about. Alot of weak and flavorless cigars being made imo and I find myself asking alot " Where's the beef?" Always a mixed bag of experiences and too many times the disappointing kind for what we pay. All my personal opinions of course.
El Presidente Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Hi Rob, thoughts on the Infantes? They are not for me. I have only had maybe a dozen mind you over the past year. Yet I know a ton of guys who absolutely love them. Simply a case of the blend and my palate don't synch.
Smalls Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Just about every Bolivar I have tried has been disappointing. I also have a box of Party Shorts from 2012 that I am having trouble warming up to. I've smoked around 5 of them... The last one was a little better. The best for me has been just about any HdM along with Monte 4's and Especial No 2's.
sheppsea Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I seem to be saying this a lot across different forums lately but I haven't had great experiences with RyJ, apart from the Churchill (which was a great smoke) I found them all very forgettable I was also disappointed with the Dippy 2, I have only tried one but that didn't make me want to go out to try another, but considering the love it gets I will have to one day
Treva Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Only well constructed Cuban I have not enjoyed smoking to date has been VR famosos on the two occasions I have tried it. Looked good and burnt well. However the flavour once lit was too vegetal... That dominated the other enjoyable aspects. Maybe too young. Reminded me of a nasty nc I once had because of a dirty rotten vege or meaty aspect. A tar build up at the end. Quite young maybe needed age to improve it but I was disappointed as it ticked a lot of other boxes. Not the cigar for me... But open to revisit in a few years time. Enjoyed the Canadian re will be interested how the unicos compares.
TypicalSituation Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Only ever had one, but the Partagas Serie D No 4 I had was bland and lifeless
