Hmmm...

Im actually dissappointed because both him and the lady seem like really nice people, its a shame nobody has told them what they actually are. But i have a feeling the original sender had no idea they were fakes either.

Ah well.

Well they are happy...that's all that really counts. The guy who gifted them probably thought they were the real thing. If so, good for him.

If someone gifted me a baseball card collection that wasn't legit I wouldn't know.

The gift is the point.

I agree, they seemed to be over the moon with the cigars. Doesn't matter that they're fake. He was more excited about the knives anyway.

Still horrible to see a Cohiba with a barber pole wrapper though :P

I feel really sorry for them, but they had fun. Its like that moment when you commit a faux-pas in a dinner party. Everybody cringes, then it clicks and you cringe. Obviously it hasn't clicked for them yet.

When I was green behind the ears in my first job, I wanted to sound sophisticated and ordered a scotch off the shelf on our Friday night out. Barman says "Sure, what you like sir." I'm stumped. My coworkers look at me. I pointed to a green bottle. "That's Jameson. Its Irish, sir."

Why go trough all the trouble of making the box, a relatively nice job with the band and mess it up with a sh-:;)$&tty barber pole wrapper. These fake cuban makers will never cease to amaze me

I wish my wife got that excited when I bring cigars home.

I do feel really bad for these guys, especially when she she says to her daughter "This is your heritage".

I had a scan through the comments and couldn't see anyone that had just come out and told them they were fakes. On one hand it's a shame to ruin the special moment these brought and may continue to bring, on the other hand though if it was me I'd be pretty pissed if I found out that a whole forum was talking about it behind my back but no one told me.

They would not know the difference if you gave them real ones.

Look what happened with my dad and his Fauxhibas?

I didn't know your dad's Cohibas turned out to be fakes! thats a real bummer.

But as you say its the thought that counts.

Sad indeed. I'm a little surprised that people of Cuban heritage would be so easily duped. Maybe just the power of suggestion--Cuban cigars are awesome, this is a Cuban cigar, so it's awesome. Still most fakes I've smoked have been BAAAAAAAD cigars.

I just learned what a faux-pas was :-)

AJ Fernandez Sol Cubanos barber poles? Did you hear that tobacco crunching like dried leaves when he was rolling it in his fingers? Shame cause he seems like a real sweetheart of a guy...

you noobs saying these are fakes...there were 100 very limited boxes of the sublimes that were collaborated with Arturo Fuente to create the "Between the Lines" Cohiba EL's. rolleyes.gif

its ok, as long as they never found out.

too late...look at the comments innocent.gif

Lol, goes to show you what kind of cigars the average person smokes considering this guy thinks fake cubans are great. Why would counterfeiters even bother with the barber pole...do people really think that's what cuban cigars look like?
