bobbutcher Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 So came home last night after dinner at my sister and brother inlaws place to find someone had broken into my house. Usual things they targeted blue ray play, dvd's etc. So after callng the police and having them turn up for a statement i thought thought I would sit down and have a drink and a cigar, low and behold went to where I keep my humidor and it's gone. My new 300ct and it's contents of around 200 sticks. As you can imagine I was pissed, having MS and being on a disability pension is hard enough and they are definatley the one thing I look forward to to releave the daily grind. But I suppose it is the way things are going in our socety these days, maybe if the courts toughened up and actually punished people instead of just a slap on the wrist there might be some deterent, one can only hope they choke on them.
Hash Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Sorry to hear about the loss of your cigars,it seems the burglars understood their value.
Duane Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Sorry to hear. Things seem to be on the incline now, my neighbour got broken into and they even took his electric razor and tooth brush. Now all my windows and doors have sticks in them so they can't be slid open when the locks are drilled out, it deters them but hey if they want in they will get in. Hope insurance will replace your cigars.
canadianbeaver Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 How awful! And you can bet he is passing them around, showing off to no one who has a clue. Please PM your address and I will help a brother out! Lisa
cigcars Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 AAARRRRGGHHHH, Man!!! I don't know WHAT to say to you in HOW much anger and hot, heated pissed off-ed-ness I have for those goons - NOT YOUR CIGARS!!! We had a break-in at our home and my brother's Gibson Guitar, keyboard, and some other losses occurred. My own humidors are right there in our living room. When I arrived home my brother-in-law along with my brother were there surveying the damage (the thieves had pulled the air conditioner unit out of the window and entered from there). Soooo hesitantly opening the lid to my humidors - contents untouched. The Lord had mercy on me. The only compensation you can ponder is that people like this WILL eventually get theirs...they always do.
PigFish Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Sorry to hear for you loss mate. Society is in an interesting predicament when master planners defines the parameters were the free will live 'behind bars,' and the 'should be incarcerated' will live amongst them. Is it not interesting how as free people we are told to lock up our houses, our cars, our belongings, ourselves so that those that harm society can roam freely? While I realize that I see things differently than most people if you examine an issue from a range of perspectives you will find that these master planned societies, planned by people whose only talent is to win an election, often suffer the problems worse than the society that is not master planned!!! Lord help the person, or persons that invade my home while I am there! I have the means to protect myself and my property. Understanding the sanctity of life, I won't kill a man over a bunch of cigars or a TV, but will happily send them to the hospital for a lengthy stay.... -the Pig
Ginseng Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 That's terrible! I'm sorry to hear of your break-in. My apartment was broken into when I first started out on my own. Since I was pretty poor, all they got was basically my telephone and a cheap silver ring. But the sense of violation and anger was much more significant than the $40 worth of stuff they took. What sort of cigars were your staple? Wilkey
