Looks like the "one Regional Edition per Distributor" rule will not applied this year?

Apparently some distributors will still have 2 due to forward commitments made. H&F are far more involved in all aspects of their releases than most.

The second German Release has been cancelled due to the "one regional per distributor" rule. Apparently it was going to be a Ramon Allones Dalia. And look what we are getting now......

...and great to see a Diplomatico!

Two RA UK REs, though

You know what. That second UK regional release got me puzzled. It is not even mentioned on the Hunters&Frankau page. Please see below:

UK Regional Editions

This year Habanos SA has approved a UK Regional Edition for distribution exclusively through Hunters & Frankau and, in an echo of the original Regional Edition released in the UK, Hunters & Frankau have once again selected the Ramon Allones brand and a Figurado shape. However, this time it will be presented in the Petit Belicoso format, rather than the Campana of 2005.

RAMON ALLONES - Petit Belicosos, 5 (125 mm) x 52

Double banded in boxes of 10. Due in August.

And the link: http://www.cigars.co.uk/news/new-habanos-2012

So who gets the Ramon Allones Gordito then?

Cheers Frank! Quite interested in the Sir John, I've a soft spot for the vitola. The RA train needs a rest IMO, starting to go the way of Por Larranaga and Punch in terms of mass regionals. I'd hope the restrictions on choosing a marca are opened soon, I'd love to see some RyJ releases without the EL wrapper, think how good an RyJ laguito #1 could be, or an Upmann Culebra, Hoyo Laquito #2?

Not interested in the UK REs at all, speaking to a lot of the UK online community it seems quite some damage has been dealt with the release of the Punch gold medal [read greedy price] which has lead to a significant halt in any planned UK RE planned purchases. Can't say I disagree with them either, H&F's decision to follow the 'elite market' business plan is essentially anti-cigarcommunity, anti-cigar beginner and in these economic times downright short sighted.

The Aniversario is a 2013 regional while the Petit Belicoso is a 2012 release.

With 2 Ramon Allones going to the UK over the next two years, it looks like David Lewis still has a say in RE selection.

Again (almost) only gags with RG 50 and bigger.

I like the slim, elegant formats. IMO they're simply better.

Yeah, I get the feeling Cuba LOVES to roll at 50 ring gage. Masters of the Robusto

48rg is the smallest re???moving along...nothing to see here.

Seriously, one 48, three 50's, two 52's, and three 54's? Marginally interested at best in RE's, but this a complete yawner for me w/ the exception of the Hermosos No. 4. And I enjoy a RASS and a Boli RC, but I'm another who just doesn't get the petite robusto... what a waste of a Diplomatico.

God bless HSA if they can sell 'em... are small ring gauge lovers such an anachronism?

I will stick with my regulars rather than paying extra for a different size. Plus czar and many others have great PCC releases still available. The SLR from 2009 is amazing.

Agreed with most. rg's are getting out of hand, RA is turning into a drag queen with regionales bands. Good I lost most interest in ER's some years ago otherwise I would be really disappointed.

Agreed, the Pacificos is a wonderful cigar.

I think I'm the only one here who does lol but I quite like the PR format. I think the Hoyo PR is a fantastic smoke, most people know my opinions on the LFDC short robusto and I can't wait to try the Cohiba one from the travel humidor.

The reason is purely down the time/weather constraints. The weather over the past few years here has been pure foul, if yu se a break in the clouds you have to dash out with a corona/PC/short robusto. With a lot of the coronas having been deleted or being rolled with trampled banana leaves (RyJ + Punch) the short/petit robusto is a nice new option. I'd love to be able to smoke churchils reguarly but to date this year, the weather has allowed me to smoke one churchil and one sublime. Every other cigar has been a smaller one.
