canadianbeaver Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 OK, so here is my review (not a serious one, so play along). Underfilled, under rated and under achieving, my expectations are understandably low. First half inch of ash, manage to burn straight. Fauxhiba 1, garbage 0 Tastes not unlike poop on Hallowe'en. However, lots of nice smoke.
Colt45 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Thanks for sharing the whole experience - good, bad, and ugly. And thanks to all for helping - it benefits us all.
canadianbeaver Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 Ash now resembles a Swiffer from an abandoned dusty house. I chalk this up to all the splendid Cuban shortfiller chosen specifically for Fauxhiba S.A. Lots of smoke still but taste is not exactly improving, despite my elegant pairing with Coke Classic. Hints of KFC and ashtray?
canadianbeaver Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 this guy is trying so hard to be normal!! And to be honest, it tastes no worse or better than some of the real vintage cigars we have smoked in the past. UPDATE as of 6PM... abandoned. YUCK. Time to choose something really good. Think I will go for a LGC #2.
canadianbeaver Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 One last thing and then I think we can put this to bed... On one of the posts before this, there was a link to Diplomatic boxes... and the leaf on the top was beautiful and gold. Mine is a silksreened brown. That should have been game over from minute one. Thanks again all. Lisa
Smallclub Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Why are you smoking this crap? The wrapper looks like a banana tree leave, and do you have an idea of the the hygiene conditions in a chinchale, a clandestine workshop, in Cuba 20 years ago?
canadianbeaver Posted July 10, 2012 Author Posted July 10, 2012 You are right. I have abandoned it. But they told me to try one. I know, I'll give them to Art. He LOVES Cohibas!!! TA DA!!!
El Presidente Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 You are a class act Lisa Disappointment is rife in this game when it comes to vintage cigars. Your excitement, disappointment and good grace is a lesson to many.
