Nevermind

Don't let the haters get you down, some people aren't impressed without a $$$$ price tag. Best cigar I've ever had was a Johnny O Genios. :perfect10:

Dean, don't let them get you down. (I see that you have removed the pictures now) but I know who and where they are from too, and I've had one of those exact ones, and after a little rest, they are really great cigars! You will love them. Who here hasn't smoked a cigar with some cosmetic issues (not saying that these have any), or an ugly stick and it wasn't still awesome??? I know I have, I went through a phase that the uglier the stick the better it was. These are a great value too, not expensive at all, so you have every right to be proud of them! I would put the pics back up.

Also agree that the Sublimes are great too.

Customs are customs, Dean. You like how they look and how it makes you feel, so screw anyone else who tries to put you down. These are your cigars. However, from another perspective, I will say that unlike most boards, the FoH community tries to educate rather than berate.

Edit: wrong customs!

I had heard the minutos and franciscos were spectacular. I would have loved for you to put these in the box pass!

Gotta have thicker skin if you want to be on the internet just mho.

Thanks for the input and opinion. Dont know what we'd do without your commentary....

Likewise.

Why the need for a thicker skin? How about being civil?

Agreed, having thick skin helps instead of being so sensitive about what anonymous strangers say on a message board. Will help in case you are ever on other forums, just a tip.

Thanks so much for your coaching, looking out for us and preparing us all for 'life on the outside'.

Mate, I think you have hit upon a rather strange "funny bone" of the internet cigar world. If you don't mind the use of the thread space I will explain.

There are those of us who want to smoke great cigars. I consider myself one such person. There are cigars that I consider superior and inferior to my standard. I think most of us have a standard. Some of us choose to deal with the opinions about 'their' standard, and the standards of others a little differently. Most are sensitive at least somewhat about their standard, and some like me don't care much about what others think of what we smoke.

Imagine for a moment a guy who does not like the RASS... or the Cohiba Robusto, or the BHK 52! What potential for 'flak' do you think he is in for when he says so? It can be a lot. I know, I am that guy!!!

I am into candidly talking about cigars. I like the RG line and the Diplomatico! I like the Esp. 1 and 2 and could care less about the Monte 2 or the Edmudo!

What I am saying is that there is nothing wrong with your cigars if you like them. And frankly, I see the other side as well. There is nothing right with them if you have tried them and don't like them!!!

Lastly I will say that there is a lot to a label to CC smokers. Why do I say that? Because there are some out there who don't know a good cigar from a bad one... and frankly they depend on a guru or a price tag to lead them. These people do exist in the cigar world. In some cases they make the grade because of the bank roll. Some of these folks can be very generous and objective while others are just looking for a new means to put airspace between themselves and the rest of mankind. It is of course for you to decide who is who, here or anywhere else.

When a certain label is put to a cigar, these people expect to see that cigar! I am not rationalizing it, I am just stating it as I have seen it at many a public cigar forum. You shake the ground they walk on, saying that your cigar is comparable to their cigar at 2 or 3 times the price and that airspace gets a little narrower, in their eyes anyway. It makes them squirm a bit. Sometimes they get vocal about it.

Frankly, I have smoked a $2 cigar that tasted better than a BHK!!! I have thrown away better cigars!!! Those are the facts as I see them, but of course I am in the minority around here. Most in the CC cigar world believe, the more you doll them up, the more you pay for them, the better they taste!!!

Take the flak mate... And enjoy your cigars in good health. If they are good tell us about them. And if they are less then good, buck up and tell us that they are not so good. One thing that cannot be taken from you is your honesty to yourself and others; your frank and open discussion of your findings both good and bad.

I think that the Le Hoyo du Depute is better than a BHK. And when you factor in the cost... well, that to me is what experience and good smoking is all about. When you look at the holes in my jeans, the sweat on my Harley hat and my du Depute, you may take pity on me. But you will have no idea really, the great cigars that I have enjoyed or what kind of a person I am. I am okay with that.

Cheers!

I too think you should put the picture back up. -Ray

Thanks for posting that Ray... for I was too lazy  You take the words right out of my mouth!

For those that had asked me to repost the pictures. Here you go. I took them down because I just try to avoid petty banter from people who feel they need to make themselves feel good about themselves because they have some insecurities about themselves. I post on this site because it is full of distinguished and respectable people who share some of the same interest with myself. For those who are not of the kind listed above, go back to being trolls on the Cigar Aficianado forum. This is FOH.

So what are they? Custom rolls from whom and from where (the tobacco)?

Some guy by the name of Johnny-O that gets cigars rolled by some unknown roller. Cigars are advertised as Cuban. You will see postings about his stuff on various boards. Opinions on his stuff will vary.

You're wrong on all facts! I don't think it's cuth that we talk about other vendors or sources on here, but I can tell you they are well respected and authentic and not Johnny O's.

Nevermind. You're right. The ones reviewed by Aizuddin are from a different roller.

Let us know how they smoke.
