davidl Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Question - What do you mean by custom BHK, are these custom made by Cohiba? (they look AWESOME)
Cohiba Stevie Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Question - What do you mean by custom BHK, are these custom made by Cohiba? (they look AWESOME) I too am curious... They look like fantastic smoked though.
Ghabanos Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 How can I get customized rolls also? I don't a stick here and there but rather a bundle each month or something. These look amazing!!! Sorry I had to look at these again
cckandb24 Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 No not made by Cohiba. Perhaps similar size and blend. That's just the name they were given
Smallclub Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 No not made by Cohiba. Perhaps similar size and blend. Or maybe the special blend for the King of Spain, or the one for Saddam Hussein and his sons… or maybe tobacco from the Vuelta Arriba… this "perhaps" sounds like a wishful thinking. just sayin'…
mk05 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 ^my new favorite poster Frank is very knowledgeable for sure. He could be nicer though! or the one for Saddam Hussein and his sons… Dont forget the sheiks and several dukes of UK. Dean, these smoke better dry; I recommend that you dry box these for a good 2 weeks - otherwise they will be very harsh. The sticks arrive very moist. Whether it is indeed freshly rolled, or kept in high humidity to give the appearance of "freshness," is another matter.
Smallclub Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I smell the work of Johnny O! You can smell nicaraguan leaf from a distance? (I was just saying that customs that are not rolled in front of you, with a blend that you have tested and approved, don't provide any guarantee of quality, let alone typicity…)
Ginseng Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Luscious! If they smoke as they look, there's some pleasure there waiting on you. Wilkey
melies Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 This looks like the work of certain Hong Kong gang! lovely Customs!
cckandb24 Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 No Johnny O. I don't like working with unreliable characters. And why I do sense some haters here posting, not sure that's necessary
CaptainQuintero Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I've never heard anything bad about Johnny before, everyone always says he's a great guy.
Puros Y Vino Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I've never heard anything bad about Johnny before, everyone always says he's a great guy. Who is Johnny O exactly? I hear his name on various boards but never read much detail on him other than he rolls cigars. And Dean, don't worry about the haters. Though some of the comments were insightful. If you're happy with them and they smoke well then enjoy.

He sells cigars rolled by his friends, supposedly one of the guys who visits LCDHs around the world. Some people swear it's cuban tobacco, others swear it isn't. His cigars are normally twists on cuban names like 'behique' and Mag 47 etc. Some have shaggy feet and pigtails too.
cckandb24 Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 Thanks Frank. I had heard some great things about these from Aizuddin and since we don't have access to the great Cuban rollers here in the U.S. like you boys in Canada do, I had to give them a try. No clue if they will be as good as Hamlets or others but the presentation and construction have me very optimistic.
Orion21 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I'm disappointed to see the amount of green leaf in the feet of some of those cigars. I know the source and the cigars -- they aren't anything like BHK's other than the size. I hope you enjoy them though! I love the Sublimes.
Smallclub Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I'm disappointed to see the amount of green leaf in the feet of some of those cigars. That and a disturbing number of stems…
Wicky Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 I had a minuto the other day. It was one of the best cigars I've had this month. Mind you, it was a ringer. But I have been generally happy with these :
Ginseng Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 I'm disappointed to see the amount of green leaf in the feet of some of those cigars. And now that's why I have friends with normal color vision. I couldn't see that at all. Wilkey
