sighuber Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 A similar thing happened about 10 years ago to my fabulous Doberman. I came home from work and she was mostly paralyzed with just a little ability to move her legs but could not walk. I took her to the vet and they kept her overnight. The next morning it was like full rigor mortus. It was completely devasting to have to make the call...I cried for the first time in many, many years... I still think about her often... Prez,my thoughts are with you.
smll2 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Rob, My prayers are with Cohiba and your family. I pray that he doesn't suffer to much and this is temporary. Best wishes Cohiba....

winelover Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Hi Rob, Our golden retriever went through real stiffness and pain about a year ago. She has arthritis but I'm pleased to say you wouldn't notice at all these days - she has daily glucosamine, a cartrophen injection once a month (this stuff works wonders for stiff joints) and previously when she was really bad she used to have rimadyl. One of the best things we found was making her lose weight as heavy dogs with bad joints suffer more. Thoughts and prayers with you and family and hope Cohiba pulls through. Graham
