What was your first CC box purchase?

What was your first CC box purchase? When did you buy them? Did you get them blind? Did you like them?

My first were SCdlH El Principes in 2004 bought blind on recommendations I'd read. Funnily enough I remember thinking at the time that all cigar sizes bigger than PC were unnecessarily large! How things changed! Needless to say, I enjoyed them and caught the bug.

I believe my first box was a 10 box of Monte # 1's almost ten years ago. I just smoked the last one a couple of weeks ago. What struck me most was the classic Cuban cedar-y profile that you find to some extent in almost all Cuban cigars. Over the years the flavors matured into a very creamy, coffee, milk chocolate profile. Delicious!

My first box purchase was a box of CoRos that never made it to my home. This was in late January of 2012 after I smoked my first CC (a CoRo on my honeymoon). The first box that actually made it into my humidor was an HQ box of Mag 46 from our wonderful host. And yes, I do enjoy the Mag 46.

One thing i will say. I still own all original boxes with about 5-7 ciagars still left in each of them. I will keep them for a while yet, especially the siglo iis

My first box of CCs was a box of Monte 4s from the LCDH in Dubai when I used to travel internationally frequently. I don't really remember them that well, but they kept me coming back over the years.

Edit: Because I had wanted to try a non-fake Cohiba. And, I liked the size. It has become a staple in my humi.

I bought a box of CoRo and a box of PSD4 on a trip to Cuba in 2008. Had smoked a few singles of the PSD4 but bought the CoRo on recommendation.

LOL, like any proud parent I took pictures after delivery :-) Of course it was a no brainer... box of Esplendidos (still have), Monte 2 (have about 10 left), CoRo (all gone). This was in 2006.

My first box of CC's were HdeM Palmas.. I bought them as a promo for my coffee company. I made labels with my logo on them and wrapped them over the real bands. These cigars were pretty cheap. I had only been buying fivers up until then.

Monte 4's. 1998. It was love at first puff. It tasted like expensive candy. They blew away any NC's I had ever smoked, and I've never looked back since.

RASS Jul 09 box (dont have the box to check the code on hand) back in July of 2010. I started smoking cigars in May of that same year and I bought a box of RASS on a recommendation. I still have four cigars from that box left.

Monte Edmundos in 2008 - loved and still love them. Paid an arm and a leg because I didn't know any better... still worth it!

Been smoking cigars since 1995, but didn't buy a box of CC's until 2004...I think. I bought two boxes. The HdM Petit Robustos had been first released around this time so I got a box and loved them...incredibly smooth. The other box was Vegas Robaina Famosos...strong but the delivery was sublime. I was so struck at how little after taste there was wih CC's. With other cigars I was flossing and brushing my teeth and still have a mouth that tasted like an ashtray. Once I realized the difference between CC's and all others I didn't look back.

Oddly enough, never bought another box of either cigar. Gonna have to fix that! Thanks for the thread...good memories.

The d4s and ryjs were quite tannic, full of ammonia but by the time I got near the end man they started to taste real good.

When I was starting my new hobby I used to buy only singles and cardboard boxes, but after two years in 2007 I got my first boxes of JLP Cremas and Quintero Nacionales just because they were cheap and I needed some sticks to smoke when fishing. Bought them blind and they were quite rough back then, but at the moment those JLPs are wonderful. I won't buy more Quinteros though (knock on wood).

My first box purchase was 3 weeks ago. Cohiba Behike 56. I hadn't had a 56 before, just a couple of 54's. So far I have smoked one and resisted the urge to smoke the rest. Since then I've ordered some petite Edmundos and a box of E2s.
