El Presidente Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Arrived this morning. I didn't know how to tell her so I have just text Lise to check this thread Little Speed Deamon that she is. Baby in back and all
Habanakane21 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Danica Patrick huh?? That's a steep fine for 11 over. So sorry Lise.
rckymtn22 Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Wow, note not to speed when i am in Queensland next! $666 Crazy, that is about $75 to $100 here.
IcedCanuck Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Sorry about your luck Lise. That's pretty harsh for 11km/h over the limit! Around here they don't bother you unless you are exceeding the limit by more than that. Is that photo radar that got her? They tried pulling that stunt around here; every single person who got hit by it chose to fight the ticket in court. The court system got so backed up it would have taken them over two years to get around to your case which exceeds the time limit so they got rid of the photo radars.
Wil Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 $666? That is insane. It's also the number of the beast
Ishmael Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Wow. I just paid a $50 ticket for 15 over in Ontario. Reduced from 30 over of course $600 bucks is crazy talk.
OZCUBAN Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Just be thank ful that Lise doesn't live here in the west ,,I got done a while back similar sort of speed ,ie over the limit $150.00 ,next jump up from that 250.00 So for those in north America your speeding fines seem as cheap as your cigars OZ
OZCUBAN Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Sorry I missed the 666.00 obviously a govt blunder Idiots "it's all about revenue has bugger all to do with road safety ,if it was they would spend the money on the roads OZ
HabanosHoser Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 That's crazy for only 11 over! The punishment sure doesn't fit the crime. Sorry Lisa.
NMJoe Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 $666? Besides being an egregiously high fine, especially considering the number of Kph over the speed limit, that's an odd number choice for a fine. The devil made me do it?
asmith Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Lead Foot Lisa This is why Rob and I refuse to get in the car with her driving, you are truly taking your life into your hands.
scradley Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 11km's over and a 666$ fine!?!? im glad I live in ontario, id hate to see what my 43km over a few years of go would have cost me down there!
riazp Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 wow thats pretty insane...666$ for 11 kph over...damn.
Murri Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 At current exchange rates, it's $715 CDN. That is just insane. Maybe have El Prez auction off a box or two to help pay.
Bcrowell Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 I do 15 over on the way to work and I get passed by cops. I guess the other 6 million people in Houston going 80 help me blend in.
JSPEC Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Does 11km over really warrant such a steap fine? ANd really guys? She drives that fast lol? A whopping 11 over she gets caught with I am beginning to wonder how fast Lise goes on a regular basis......to fast to catch? Hmmmm. A wanker of a ticket though.
El Presidente Posted February 9, 2012 Author Posted February 9, 2012 At current exchange rates, it's $715 CDN. That is just insane. Maybe have El Prez auction off a box or two to help pay. Don't worry. 5% of each box today in LFTH will go to the fine
Ken Gargett Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 you are taking the piss. i've just checked the "fines" site. it is very disappointing that you would deliberately mislead your loyal customers!!!! Fines and demerit points When a vehicle is detected speeding by either a fixed or mobile speed camera, an infringement notice is mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle (this also applies to a joint owner whose name is listed first on the record). This notice provides details of the alleged offence and includes a photograph. The notice provides the vehicle owner with 28 days to pay the fine, elect to go to court, or nominate the driver of the vehicle. If the notice is in your name and you pay the fine, demerit points will also be accrued against your driver's licence. Fines and demerit points for speed camera detected speeding offences are the same as for other speeding tickets. Current penalties for speeding Less than 13 kilometres per hour (km/h) over the speed limit:A$133 + one demerit point. At least 13 km/h but not more than 20 km/h over the speed limit:A$200 + three demerit points. More than 20 km/h but not more than 30 km/h over the speed limit:A$333 + four demerit points. More than 30 km/h but not more than 40 km/h over the speed limit:A$466 + six demerit points. More than 40 km/h over the speed limit:A$933 + eight demerit points and six month suspension. Double demerit points Double demerit points apply in Queensland to drivers and motorbike riders who commit more than one of the following speeding offences within a 12 month period: Penalty sets (km/h over speed limit)First offenceSecond offence (within a year) Demerit point penalty Monetary penalty Demerit point penalty Monetary penalty 21-30 km/hfour pointsA$333eight pointsA$33331-40 km/hsix pointsA$46612 pointsA$46641 km/h and aboveeight points and six months suspensionA$93316 points and six months suspensionA$933For example, if you commit a speeding offence of 25 km/h over the speed limit, you will be allocated four demerit points for that offence. If you commit a second speeding offence of 32 km/h over the speed limit within one year after the first offence, you will be allocated six demerit points for the second offence, plus an additional six demerit points for it being within one year after the first offence. You will have 16 demerit points allocated to your traffic history, which will result in a driver licence sanction. Additional demerit points are also allocated for certain second or subsequent driver seatbelt offences and motorbike helmet offences that are committed within one year after the first offence. A second or subsequent offence committed within this same offence group, within one year after the first offence, will attract additional demerit points.
JSPEC Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Remind me not to drive in Australia when I go visit family lol
nick17 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 WOW $666 is nuts Lisa slow down or moved to canada where our speeding fines are much less as long as you keep it under 50 over in Ontario anyways
JSPEC Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 The fines are a bit less but if you go 50 over its a total S**T storm you go through.
KarlJ Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 This is gotta be a joke! Kinda like a fake scratch and win but in this case the joke is the complete opposite. Good one Prez!
