I have done what I can do.

I am looking to replace those cigars I can no longer buy. I am looking into non-Cuban coronas! Any suggestions?

It is hard to be a Friend of Habanos when Habanos has un-friended you!

There are no cigars made outside of Cuba, you know it. Don't be a bi, it doesn't suit your style. :nyah::lol:

Piggy, I smoked a NC the other night. It was good. I prefer the habanos, but there is no reason why a change of pace is a bad thing.

I am sorta out of the NC current state of things, but standouts that you may seek trying are Padron 1964, Oliva V, Illusione. They stood out to me as "complex" for a NC.

Let us know whatever you decide. I'd be interested to hear your comments...

These fine 5x40 cigars scream class and sophistication. Construction and draw is always consistant, those around you will be left wondering at their unique armoa. A box of twenty five will set you back $35 but the finer things in life always cost a little extra. Aging these fine products is a hot topic on many cigar forums around the world.

Ray,

Only NC I'm actively looking is not a corona: Tatuaje Black Petite Lancero. Very, very enjoyable but limited in supply. Also, as far as corona gordas go, give the Guillermo Leon Signature Gran Corona. Excellent full flavored.

Hope all is well.

Had a Tat Black Petite Lancero friday. A little heavier than I like for after lunch.

Good luck on the NC corona search. Problem for me is finding them that I like and are not budget busters.

Don Carlos #3 isn't bad.

I'll preface this next bit by saying: I'm not a tat lover. In fact, I dislike how his LE's are marketed and distributed. Seems to be more of a retailer issue though...

Tat especiales, brown unicos and Tat black lancero are pretty darned good for a NC. I'll go further to say, bless Pete for still making "traditional" sizes. The Petite Cazadores Reserva is one of my favorite NC's right now. Casita Criolla is a pretty good american puro.

Good luck in your quest piggy, most NC manufacturers are on the 52+ RG bandwagon now.

I hope you will update us as you journey down the NC road . Since I originally came from the NC world I have several strong opinions regarding several Nc marcaras. But I will wait for your observations first.

Best of luck

Hi Mr. Pig,

One of my suggestions are the cigars by E.P.Carrillo, and his Regalias Real, which is nice corona gorda. I also enjoy the Dunhill Valverdes and Diamantes.

Please keep us posted on your search and any NC's that you find interesting. I think it may be a fun journey. If nothing else, it may lead you back home again, which is fine too.

Thank you and best wishes,

Curtiss

Hah I had this exact thought after the doom and gloom discussions in the discontinued thread last week.

Just ordered a 5 pack of Tatuaje especiales to try. It does seem like at least in the NC market there is room for both short/fatties as well as long and skinnies.

And it's good to see so much hype over a long and skinny, the Tatuaje BL Petit Lancero. Can't wait to try one of those.

Ray,

OK,what I understand , because your Mercedes blew the 2 front tyres, you now have a reason

to go and buy a 4X4 Lada ,well true, the tyres are quite strong.;)

instead of going bi, maybe try celibacy?

I for one believe if I ever came to the point that cuban cigars weren't doing it for me, I'd probably look for another habit, er I mean "interest". Anything non-cuban to me feels like a step down and if I find myself without a Cuban cigar, I'll pass on smoking one of another origin. If you find a NC that would replace what you've been missing I'd be happy to hear what it is.

Hey piggy,

Don Pepin is making some great cigars right now with my father and le bijou, Also la reloba and his personally named lines. Rocky Patel's decade series and Old world reserve have been a favorite in the NC market, and of course you can never go wrong with Padron anniversary series. Hope this helps. I do think there are serveral NC's that are just great smokes and I hate that every NC just gets bashed to no end here.

I feel your pain! In your search for decent NC small RG cigars, I have to agree with a lot of the other guys in that you should try the Tat Blk PLs. If you're interested, shoot me your address and I'll send you a handful to try.

That's some funny stuff!

padron anniversary 64 natural like a 42 x 6", imperiales or superiores something like that

illusione and alex bradley my father are ok too

to be honest, i think you will struggle but might find one or two you like along the way. Ive been on a similar journey myself, basically trying around a dozen 42-46 rg NC's. the above have been the best, the rest, meh
