Is this never ending? are vendors so cheap they cant buy a camera and take a picture of their stock?

....and Canadians to boot :D

Thanks Jim for bringing it to my attention. We can't do much about it except embarass the classless pricks.

At least send the guy a note pointing out what a classless thing this is to do. Bear one thing in mind to settle your thoughts - with all the Canucks on here, you're definitely taking his 'potential' customers :D

Never hear of these guys. They are out west in BC. Maybe chance can put a missile up their arse from his ship.

i will, however be calling them tomorrow and give them what for

I mean hello how hard is it to take a few photos of your own it's not even hard anymore in this digital age :D

And further more I certainly would not buy from a company that is to lazy to don the hard yards themselves ,I mean what else do they cut corners on

OZ :D

Rob, as much of a pain as it would be, and though you should not have to ever do it, my suggestion would be going through the images and adding

an FOH watermark.

I was going to make the same suggestion

Possibly. Then again I am the sort of bloke who doesn't lock the doors at home.

It is one thing when a start up has a crack at stealing images. Particularly one that is obviously selling fakes. Just a lack of character/decency. It is another thing when a business trumpets its historic place in the world of cigar retail, cigar culture and then steals images.

Fair chance there is a lazy web designer / programmer at work here, too and the business would be embarrassed to find out they had lifted your images.

My ex got me some stuff there back in the day...

Thats why she;s my ex......

Rob, I understand that you are a generous guy as all the members here can attest.

However, these images are your property that you have spend time and money over.

I know it will take time but a watermark over all images will ensure these leeches won't steal again. There are program that will do the whole batch of them in one go. Just make sure the name on the images stay the same, watermark them, upload them again to the web server.

these pricks will never do it again.

They probably don't even know it is stolen.

Like said before a lazy web designer googled for images and stole yours.

You should let them know, they will probably be shocked.

They should have known better, if no one gave him pictures to post, where did they come from?

There are many types of software to add watermark, since this is for professional use , I suggest you use Pixsetup, very good and fast batch process.

I agree, Rob. At first I thought maybe you had given them permission, since they are "one the last remaining examples of pure high society" :D Like others have said, it's quite possible a web designer did it without their knowledge. But don't they wonder where the images came from?

That stinks. I know from experience, just in a different way. As a small business, locally considered the top dog, we get ripped off all the time by the competition. But they are smart and do it in a way where you can't go after them. At the end of the day, we just try to turn it into positive energy and be a better company.

I don't know what it is about stuff like this, but it makes me crazy. Kudos to you Rob for taking the higher road. But at the end of the day, ignorance is no excuse. I say you f**k with them. Have an invoice drawn up with just ridiculous amounts for each picture used and any other off the wall expense you can think of to charge them. I am sure you have friends or even clients that are lawyers or CPAs that would enjoy doing this for you. Have them send it out on a official letterhead or invoice to make it look all legit. Mail it out and bill those bastards! If they are a business that takes pride in their reputation, they will **** themselves when they open it, lol. Hey, no one has the right to make a dime off of your hard work.

I also recommend watermarking the pics like mentioned earlier. At the very least have a disclaimer added to the bottom of the pages stating all images are the sole property of Czar or something to that effect. Or have a virus hidden in the image file so that when someone does try to download it a picture of Ken fills screen and locks up their computer.:clap:

There is a reason for that;

1) you were drunk too often at work and on your way home lost your keys and therefore were always stuck outside

2) you were drunk too often at home and would go outside to piss over the balcony and your wife would lock the door behind you, so you removed the lock.

Take your pick?

Point 2 has never happened

They are just cigar pictures mate. I think that a watermark makes them look cheesy, just my humble opinion. Look over Wolters LCdH site... the pictures are awful.

Most of us are guilty of pinching photos from the net. I have my share. I mean I have been trying to sell your Rob and Ken at spitbucket image to the company that makes Geritol!!! They said, unfortunately, that those two fellows don't look heathy enough to represent our product. -LOL

I used to really like your Churchill image, and frankly thought it was a shame that you could no longer use it, or for some reason chose not to use it. Somehow I can't see how Sir Winston would have found his image on your site offensive, although he may have wanted a vig of a few cigars. Have a good laugh at your expense. They are more than a few furlongs behind you mate.

.... At those prices (the Nut site) they likely cannot afford a good camera! Most of their clients likely buy from you instead of them already!
