Ghabanos
What are your guys thoughts on this head to head? Was thinking of picking up a box of churchills. Should I pick one over the other and why? Are there certain flavors that stand out ?? Again, if this has been asked already please direct me to the thread. Thanks.
riazp
have you seen the video review they did on the sir winnies? check it out and I think you'll be sold. Rob said in the last review of the upmann's no.2 that H. Upmann is probably the best factory in habanos at the moment, everything up and down the line is smoking great. I cannot speak from experience because i've never had any, but personally i'd pick up a box of HQ sir winnies. just my very humble opinion, hope it helps Ghabanos

I'm really interested to see how the 2011 Monte Opens are like in when the gang review them again
Colt45
I can't comment on such recent vintages, but for me I'll take the Sir Winston hands down. I just find the Upmann much more flavorful than the Cohiba.
bob25
I have 09 box of SW, I smoked only 2 from that box. The first one I smoked was about a month after I received the box and it wasn't that great. I let them rest for about 6 months and it did wonders to the cigar. I decided to try one every 6 months, I think SW will benefit greatly with long term aging. Never had a Esplendidos , so I cant help you there.
Stalebread
The Which Cuban Cigar has the highest rate of Satisfaction amongst members poll shows the Sir Winston way out in front. The poll does not include the Esplendidos but that to me doesn't make much difference when you look at what is included and how the Sir Winston places at the top of the list. Anyway, personally I'd take the Sir Winston.
Maron76
For my money, Sir Winni's hands down. I think it is like a $200 difference with the SW being less costly and just a better cigar. I have had a few of each this summer both of them from 08. I cant remember the box codes for them, they were out of my dads stash. But if he were to offer me a choice over which box that I could have I would grab the SW and run LOL. I would guess that in this past month or so during the LITH, we have seen Sir Winstons at a 10to1 ratio over the Esplendidos (just guessing). That I believe says a lot about how good these are right now.
shrink
I much prefer the Sir Winston, but that's my palate. In comparison, my late '08 SW's are more flavorful than the late '08 Esplendidos. Some people prefer the Cohiba, though.
bassman
I's buying 08 Bolivar Coronas Gigantes. If you's offerin, I''ll take the Espie & the Winnie.
Ellery
I have a box of sir winstons 2010 and I picked up a couple of 3pk esp 2010. Def go with the Sir Winstons. The esplendidos were somewhat hit or miss, but found the sir winstons more consistent and better flavor overall
Ghabanos
Thanks to all who replied... Obviously overwhelmingly hupmann is the winner here... No love for the esplendidos ...
Dbone
Yes but don't forget, the Cohiba has an exclusive third fermentation according to Habanos

jdbrown
Just had LOT OCT 10 Winnie yesterday. Just superb. Maybe best smoke I have in humi. They are easy to smoke now and very complex. Better than my 08 and 09's.
ramon_cojones
Easy decision sir winnies bc I already have splendis LOL! Seriously though, not having smoke any SWs I have to say my el laguito espis are smoking great. A buddy had one from a 3 pack that didn't hold a candle to mine and we had them at the same time. Mine just looked plain gorgeous and edible
El Presidente
In defence of the Esplendidos We have completed vid reviews on both and both were outstanding. Very different cigars. There is better box to box consistency with the Upmann Sir Wnston than there is with the Esplendido. Still the right box of 08/09 Esplendidos are stunning.
