bc8436 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I like to have a cigar when I take the dog for a walk, which normally lasts around 20-45 minutes, depending on the weather. I have some an assortment of cheap NCs for this purpose, but came across the Partagas Chicos Cellos on the Czar site today. Does anybody have some experience with these? Any other small, machine-made cigars that I should look into? Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help Panatellas: Be it Por Larranaga, Quintero, Rafael Gonzalez...etc. Cheaper than Siglo I's or Trini Reyes, which are also good for a 1/2 hour but much more costly per stick. Fonseca Delicias are good too.
cigcars Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 *Depending upon your quality preferences, and since you want it cheap and quick, are you alright with Jose`L. Piedras? Quick. Cheap. And not that bad in habana flavor.
anacostiakat Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 The Chicos are a good cheap smoke if they are not underfilled.
Torontonian Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 The Por Larranaga Montecarlo is a wonderful little machine-assisted number.
Lotusguy Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 The Por Larranaga Montecarlo is a wonderful little machine-assisted number. It's handmade since 2002
redlir Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 It's handmade since 2002 Well he said 'assisted' It's hand 'finished', not completely hand made.

redlir Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I have both a box of PL and RG on hand, the PL's are great, caramel.. light nutty. The RG's are too wet at the moment to get a good sample from. Nutty, and a little stronger. I had 1 Reyes out of a sampler from the Czar and it was probably one of the best smoked I've ever had. If money is no issue, Reyes all the way.

Trinidad Reyes packs amazing flavors in a short smoke, but it's not cheap. Have you tried Partagas Shorts? That is another great short smoke and it's a good value in my opinion.
bc8436 Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 I'm really looking for cheap, machine-made cigars because I don't want to feel too bad if I accidentally drop the cigar or if it's windy out. Lots of great suggestions here. I'll look into the PL Monte Carlos, Fonseca and Jose Piedras.
Lotusguy Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Well he said 'assisted' It's hand 'finished', not completely hand made. Well, my box from June 2010 says "totalmente al mano" on it...
gigabyte056 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 It is cheaper to make handmade cigars now days then machine made and hand finished. the machines are old and as far as I know are no longer used. Brands like JLP and some other cheap brands use short filler but hand made.
cigarros Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 MC5, JLP, Quintero, PL Montecarlos - my choice while I walking with my dog Dolly And closer to fall waiting for a Half Corona from HUpi - very good stogie, I tried some from last FdH, and hope they will not expensive
CBL Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Been looking for a cheap everyday cigar as well. Anyone have anything good to say about H. Upmann Regalias?
semery74 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Nothing beats a Le Hoyo Du Maire. Flavor bombs in the smallest possible format, very well packed lasting up to 45min to an hour.
