Orion21 Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I have only tried the CoRO and the PD4. I chose the CoRo even though the PD4 is almost half the price. The CoRo is just much more refined IMO.
tcbc Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Just curious...........I've heard the Monte Edmundo is a very respectable robusto but I see no mention of it. Please elaborate.
CanuckSARTech Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Just curious...........I've heard the Monte Edmundo is a very respectable robusto but I see no mention of it. Please elaborate. Montecristo doesn't actually have a regular production robusto (but many of us wish they did!). A traditional robusto format is 4 7/8" long and with a 50-ring gauge diameter. The Edmundo is 5 3/8" long and 52-ring gauge; likewise, the "little brother", the Petit Edmundo, is 4 1/3" long and also a 52-ring gauge. It might seem like a minor variance from the traditional format size for a true robusto, but it does make a difference. The Monte Edmundo is definitely very respectable, and has lots of fans - the Montecristo blend is just so wonderful in so many different size formats. But, unfortunately, it's just a bit too big to be considered a robusto.

CoryOllis Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I've only smoked the HDM No2 and R&J SC in the Robusto vitola and the HDM wins it for me. Price wise as well, down here in Oz (Not kansas)! My Mrs has ordered a box of the Robusto 'Splits' for me and I can't wait to try some of the others in this poll. I was just going to suggest the Robusto Splits. What others like is immaterial. You just have to smoke them and form your own tastes, IMHO. Steve
Habanakane21 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I'm sure I voted for this weeks ago, but seemed to have forgotten my choice. Considering I just smoked a Cohiba Robusto and it was...how should I put it.....F'in fantastic! I'm thinking this is my new favorite robusto. 4-5 years ago it would have been an Epi.2...last few years it's been 3 that have stood out BRC, RASS and PSD4. it's really a tough decision since the robusto is my size I smoke the most.
thechenman Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 My favorite robusto in the Habanos library is hands down the CoRo. There are several other good robustos, but the CoRo does it better for me than the RASS, PSD4 and others...
josie67 Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Bolivia RC hands down. It's also my wife's favorite.
Seriesteve Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 The Partagas D4 gets my Vote The 09's and 10's are smoking soooooo well, I know I should be leting them rest but I cant resist them Now ! Seriesteve
jnt Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Monte Edmundo, seeing as its Monte's closest thing they have. Love the petit's even more.
SCgarman Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 For me I like the RASS, BRC's and VR Famosos(which are very underrated). The CORO's and Robusto T's are very good but they are too expensive for my budget and don't provide the value of the first three. I have yet to try the PSD4 and the Epicure 2's, and have heard mixed opinions about both. If money was no object I would smoke CORO's and lots of them.
ramon_cojones Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Robusto is my favorite vitola and my top two are coros and d4s followed by rass. I will pretty much smoke any robusto from epi 2 to jl2 and everything in between while enjoying them. The size is just perfect, conversely I hate pyramids save for p1s and upmann 2s. I want to give the unicos a try soon as an aside.
JimGuitar Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 D4 for me, followed by the RASS. I do occaisionally like the odd CoRo, but I have to be in the mood for them.
puros71 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Wow I voted for Juan Lopez 2, what a marvelous cigar. I also love the RASS and PSD4.
Whodat Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 I love the PSD4's! This was my 1st habanos cigar and always a favorite of mine.
davekay Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 RASS...these have been the most consistently enjoyable robusto for me
