El Presidente Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 9am and Gino just gave me a call from Italy. 1am and he and the local cigar club are partying away entertaining Smithy over great cigars, laughter and copious rums. The Irish lads did the same last week. On the phone I could hear the laughter in the background, feel the spirit and camaraderie down the line. The anti - everything crowd will never understand. How they must grit their teeth at the fun we have while they plan their next assault over a decaf Latte and tofu toast. To the reprobates of this world....I salute you
ammarhaider01 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 2:36 am in Amman, Jordan and I'm having a monte 4 and a bit of red wine, watching you guys talk about the wonderful world of cigars, Amen to that!
MIKA27 Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 It really is a unique hobby and passion we share. The materialistics of it all are just that, but its the spirit of it all in uniting a group of people to share their passion what is special IMO. What other hobby can unite perfect strangers in a room where by nights end, many can be long term friends? I can vouch that I have now met many fine gents from this forum and I am happy to call them friends, share a drink, cigar and a conversation. Steve (OZ) especally, is a close friend of mine as we often call and chat, discuss cigar matters and personal matters regarding life and families. Mike (Bolivr) is another good friend where we only recently met for coffee (No tofu ) I personally look forward to many meets where we all get to know each other, attend parties and the like, have a drink or two and enjoy life. I love this forum guys.
MontrealRon Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Latest research shows that unfermented soy (i.e tofu) is really unhealthy. Also, red wine is full of protective antioxidents. It is only a matter of time before science will confirm the belief of most North American aboriginals that tobacco (at least in its pure state - cigars, not cigarettes) is in fact a holy herb, with real spiritual qualities. It can bring together individuals with nothing otherwise in common, other than their humanity. Political differences, ethnic origins, religious beliefs, social status, all fade into the background when good cigars are shared. We are all brothers, and we in FOH know this this as a self-evident truth.
rdb6 Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 "We are all brothers, and we in FOH know this this as a self-evident truth." --very well said We are all brothers. Now the rest of the world need to wake up. Smoke em if you got em.

FlyingFossil Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Hear hear ! Rob While most are strangers to each other in real life. We may cross paths on the street and never acknowledge or know that we may know each other over a keyboard Enjoy the same little pleasures in life that makes the the hardships of everyday passable its fantastic to know that when we meet in real life, we all acccept each other and greet with the same feel as if we been friends for a life time . Your so right about the cigar citizens of FOH and their camaraderie . cheers to you all and till next time we meet !
jsd Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Great words fellas. It truly is a shame that those who choose not to smoke cigars will never know the joy of smoking a cigar with friends. The world would be a much better place if more people chose to enjoy cigars together.

For me Mecca is in the East..... Brisbane F.O.H Headquarters
sloth Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I just got done watching a movie in my friends theatre room with a 140" screen. The movies wasn't really that good, but I was smoking in a recliner... i'm just sayin'!
laficion Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 The anti - everything crowd will never understand. How they must grit their teeth at the fun we have while they plan their next assault . Friends, sharing great moments, laughter, joy, great cigars, food and wines Serge Gainsbourg said one day "Dieu est un fumeur de Havane " How can non-believers understand that ? Well, they can't, they just want to die pretty When I go, I want to be totally done and a real ship wreck but , when looking back, I'm sure that my last words will be, WWHOOOO WEEEEE , What a ride !!!!!!!!!!!

"Nail on the head" doesn't do it justice, Ron, very well put! and I knew there was a reason I didn't like soy and tofu........
cigarros Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Great passion, great international camaraderie! We're happy guys)))
n2advnture Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 The greatest thing about the enjoyment of cigars is that you immediately have at least 1 thing in common with a fellow cigar smoker and that can be a great catalyst for starting a conversation which usually leads other great friendships. Over the past 21+ years of smoking cigars, I have meet many truly great people that I would have otherwise not have met (including our "Prez" and Lisa). ~Mark
Mr. Japan Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I missed this Prez. Well thank you to cigars I have a list of international friends that I could not even imagine 10 years ago. Thank you Cuba !
