OZCUBAN Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 who would like to see Vegas Robaina Unicos in a slide lid box (Cab) I voted yes I would love to see these in Cabs
thechenman Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I certainly wouldn't mind seeing them in cabinets for aging purposes.
SethLG Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I really like cigars in the cab, as to the Vegas Robaina, I have no preference, there are many other cigars that I would love to see in a cab. I would love to see the BRC removed from 25 ct. dress box or 10 count tubo box and moved to a 50 ct. cab, but what do I know.
Quint Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Vegas Robaina one of my favorite lines of cigars. Consistant construction and flavor, age really well, nice complex flavor. Yes a cab would be nice.
bob25 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Thats a no for me. Too much space and off course shipping related issues...
Bartolomeo Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 One of my favs but so damn expensive compared to similar sizes Bart
soltino Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Definitely... which reminds me... I haven't bought any in a while...
Wicky Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Damn I love those Unicos! I'm on the Unies. Memories.
Ben Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Just realised I've never smoked one of these. I shall have to retify that promptly, judging by the remarks in this thread.
OZCUBAN Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 Thats it in a nutshell Thanks for posting Samb OZ
MIKA27 Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Just realised I've never smoked one of these. I shall have to retify that promptly, judging by the remarks in this thread. Hi Ben. Grab yourself a couple singles, enjoy them and post a review mate.
OZCUBAN Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 How set in stone are HSA's packaging policies I wonder, if there was demand would they release previously dress box cigars in Cabinets Bottom line I bet they would sell more cigars
Ben Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Hi Ben.Grab yourself a couple singles, enjoy them and post a review mate. Yeah I've smoked 3 now and I can't say I'm a fan, I dunno I've nothing bad to say about them but alas nothing good either. Not my kettle of fish I guess, I've never really been a big fan of Torps.
CigarmanTim Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I really think that everything should come in a cab. Yes but I expect the reject percentage would climb significantly due to the torp shape. I read Smithy say that the BBF's in the cab form had a high reject rate due to damage. I myself recieved a box of BBF's that were damaged. Still smoked them but I wonder if the shape is the reason they aren't in a cab already.
semery74 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I also remember reading that the damage rate for figurados are higher in cabs. My question is which has the larger capital cost? Of course Cabs of 50 definitely would definitely widen the profit margin, more cigars and less packaging for the same price. But if you compared two boxes of 25 I wonder. Both boxes are plywood, one has dressing, the other doesn't. Are they both hand made or just had finished?
SCgarman Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 As far as I know, all boxes are hand made, just like the cigars. I would like to see the Famosos come in a cab box of 25 and 50. I have not tried the Unicos, but as a robusto fan I love the Famosos and they will always be a staple in my humidor.
perfectform Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I voted no simply because I like SBN better than cabinets.

I have two boxes of P2's which have no damage... then again those are not SLB rather a SBN. I'd definitely take a box of Unicos in the SBN box. The flavors seem to intensify in those solid cedar boxes. Like Perfectform, I voted no.

For some years now I believe it's just plywood. I could be wrong on this ...

I could be wrong on this ... I wouldn't be surprised if that correct short. Now that you mention it, the sheets do have a more pungent aroma compared to the box material.
#2 man Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I really think that everything should come in a cab. Here Here all those in favor..............
