MIKA27 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Woman grows 6cm horn on forehead Source: Ninemsn.com.au A 101-year-old woman in China has baffled doctors after growing a huge goat-like horn on her forehead. Zhang Ruifang claims the growth first appeared only last year and has since expanded to be more than 6cm long, Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper reports. Now her family in Linlou, Henan province, are concerned about a second mark on the other side of her forehead. "[At first] we didn’t pay too much attention to it," said Mrs Zhang’s youngest son Zhang Guozheng. "Now something is also growing on the right side of her forehead — it’s quite possible that it’s another horn." Mrs Zhang’s growth has not been officially diagnosed but the newspaper said it was most likely an extreme version of a cutaneous horn. Cutaneous horns are made up of keratin — the protein found in fingernails — and are typically seen in elderly people who have had prolonged exposure to sunlight. But the growths are usually only a few millimetres in length. Cutaneous horns can be surgically removed but there is no way to cure the condition, meaning they may grow back. MIKA: This lady doesn't seem too concerned looking at the way she is devouring the duck/chicken!
finecigar Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Many different emotions when seeing this story- should I laugh, contemplate about horn growth, or have a bizarre affect that it should have? I am actually surprised stories like these don't appear more often. Hopefully she gets that off, if not maybe it could be a hat supporter? And hopefully the second horn doesn't grow or else she may look like a devil figure/
First Lady Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 It has been grownso she can headbutt her husband I don't need that as I have a great right hook

Either way, I don't know why but being at work, I was just eating my lunch where I stumbled onto the news and now I suddenly do not feel much like eating.

So interesting though- thanks for sharing. It's fun to read random stuff like that- but not so appetizing in this case. Lady w/ a horn may turn into ==>
daboose Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 More like 'female devolution' That's got to be Photoshop'ed. Don't ya think?
jparker Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 WTF!!!.....maybe if she ate chicken that was COOKED ,she may not have that horn growing out of her head?
cadillacdoc Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Female Evolution? I don't think so Rob, wouldn't that make her "horny"
MIKA27 Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 More like 'female devolution' That's got to be Photoshop'ed. Don't ya think? Apologies..... I forgot to post the 'Source' that being: Ninemsn.com.au
Torontonian Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 More like 'female devolution' Ah, the old myth of progress. Remember, evolution is about adaptive change not (necessarily) progress. Perhaps the nauseatingly disgusting horns are adaptive, and sooner or later we'll all be sporting them!
samb Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Freakish, but not quite as repulsive as the Tree Man .
MIKA27 Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 Freakish, but not quite as repulsive as the Tree Man . That is true Samb....
LeafLover Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Yes, the horns are impressive. More impressive: The Tree Man (as Samb posted) AND The baby born with 8 limbs in India.
Kangaroo495 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 If she starts turning red, I'm outta here! Guys, no need to build an ark just yet. As LeafLover stated, the 8-limbed incarnation of Indian god Vishnu was born in India I'm sure we'll soon be watching them face off in a death match on prime time Japanese television. "Armageddon Super Pow Smash Death Fight". Add TreeMan to the mix and you've almost got a tag team match.
PADDYWHACK121272 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Well, that put me right off my cornflakes.....
MIKA27 Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Clearly to many hormones in the poultry.... The way she is seen 'Digging into that duck leg' just cracks me up!
bunburyist Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 the old lady with the horn.....().....looks about as fake as they come. The 8-limb baby and the treedude just make me sad. Agreed though, that chicken needs another 10min in the pan.
