Bartolomeo Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 THIS WILL BE VERY BRIEF........... -Well constructed but wrapper has some wear and tear on it, feels solid in hand, some veins -Pre draw is spicy tobacco -Initial puff is a powerhouse of pepper and black licorice ……..also some major Nicotine -Profile is Full right from the start, what is the next level above Full, b/c that’s what this cigar was like, too much for me to handle and enjoy -Raw sugar, leather and hot sauce are what I think I taste in the 1/3 -I quit smoking this after the end of the 1/3……….I AM A *****! -I just didn’t really enjoy the experience of this cigar, only other cigar that made me feel this way was the RA Celeste Finos RE from 2009 -I am not a quitter by nature but Cazadores 1, Bart 0 Bart
Professor Twain Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Thanks for the review. The score for me is Cazadores 2 Prof 0 But I am not giving up!
rcsims Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Oh, great! I have 5 of these on the way. Now I am scared to try them. Oh well, only live once! Thanks for the warning, Bart.
dochowl Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 This cigar is like fireworks on the pallette (and on the head). I love it.
Buch0 Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Wow interesting.. Do you reckon these will settle much with age, or be a whack in the face forever? Would be a great choice to give a mate who only smokes cigarettes & thinks cigars are for *******
Bartolomeo Posted February 11, 2010 Author Posted February 11, 2010 Wow interesting.. Do you reckon these will settle much with age, or be a whack in the face forever? Would be a great choice to give a mate who only smokes cigarettes & thinks cigars are for ******* After I tried to smoke mine, I did some research and found I am not in the minority of others thinking these are strong but I firmly believe everyone should try every cigar they can so to have their own opinion and go from there I am simply a messenger from my mouth to my brain to you guys Bart
samb Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 The RA Gigantes has been known to snuff a suckling... Be careful of the cazadores...
cvm4 Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 These are notorious for being strong during their younger years. Needs time to calm down.
finecigar Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I do not blame you- I have given up on many RyJs. I would prefer something else- And I am loosing also, 3-1.
Jimmy2 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I still dont understand how some of you gents think this is a strong cigar i use to smoke 2 a day or more at one time felt no differant from any other Cuban. Maybe the 09's are much stronger than they have been in years ? Will have to try some 09 real soon... Love these cigars fresh as to me more than any other Cuban cigar these are ment to be smoked freshy fresh.
aavkk Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 HAHA Bart! I've smoked 2 from this exact box and neither knocked me on my ass, I'm sorry the 3rd one from the box was dynamite. I'll wait a while before I select another. I bought these to age and I think thats exactly what I'll do.
El Capitan Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Thanks for the review Bart. What a bastard of a smoke! Going to get me one of those and give it to someone I hate.
axmncg Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I still dont understand how some of you gents think this is a strong cigar I would guess that we all experience a cigars's strength differently. ? In the same way that one person gets drunk from 2 beers and another barely notices a 6 pack. Or, I can drink coffee and then fall asleep no problem. Is it different metabolism? what we've accostomed out bodies to?
Bartolomeo Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 HAHA Bart! I've smoked 2 from this exact box and neither knocked me on my ass, I'm sorry the 3rd one from the box was dynamite. I'll wait a while before I select another. I bought these to age and I think thats exactly what I'll do. No apologies needed, you provided me with some fine examples Maybe I need to lose my skirt? I figure I have smoked 85+ different singles in the past 5 months and only two made me cry, thats not too bad I dont think.......haha Bart
smokem Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Smoked one the other night - OTS AUG09. Found it to be a very good cigar. Smoked a Siglo II earlier that evening with a few beers. Went and gambled for a couple hours. Came back and smoked the RyJ with a few more beers. Had a slight headache in the morning, but thought it was the beers.
bassman Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I smoked one from the same code in June 09. Killer- could only smoke it halfway & I like strong cigars. They will settle down. 06s are smoking great now.
Jimmy2 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Smoked a OTS Aug 09 Friday night finished it in 40 min did not feel a thing cigar was enjoyable but thought it would provide more enjoyment.. Smoked another next morning outside with Cuban Coffee with 2 shots of Italian espresso this cigar was much more enjoyable many punchy spicy flavors with light earth and some sweet notes... Did not feel anything except at the very end with maybe 1 1/2 left we all know that feeling cold sweats ,ready to yack and yes the shakes but I still finished the cigar as I wont let it get the best of me. I think it all comes down to how much you smoke a day and how strong you are in general as far as getting the affects of a high nicotine cigar. Also Cubans are no way near the strength of NC cigars for me the worst being a La Flor Dominicana - Double Ligero Chisel ****ed me up to the point I was ready to cry. But overall this is a great cigar and a lot of fun to smoke and a great conversation piece when handing out to friends and warning them what they might experience while smoking this cigar.
CigarmanTim Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Also Cubans are no way near the strength of NC cigars for me the worst being a La Flor Dominicana - Double Ligero Chisel ****ed me up to the point I was ready to cry. The worst cigar I've ever had bar none.....almost like ligero concentrate. Let's not refer to this cigar ever again....
Pilsner14 Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Smoked one that was in the humi for 3 years the other day. Like Bart.....strong smoke and really was not that enjoyable. Didn't finish it either. This cigar after aging was not mellow at all and was like smoking a leather belt.
Jimmy2 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 This is a cigar that you like or you dont as i like that old time Cuban flavor so this fits a bill and i think this cigar caters to that type of smoker. Young or aged it i thinK the Cazadores will retain most of its flavor characteristics and for one i am thankfull and i love them with little age they have so much flavor....
anacostiakat Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 One of my favorites and a great cigar for the cost.
TrickNick Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 This is a cigar that you like or you dont as i like that old time Cuban flavor so this fits a bill and i think this cigar caters to that type of smoker.Young or aged it i thinK the Cazadores will retain most of its flavor characteristics and for one i am thankfull and i love them with little age they have so much flavor.... Well said. I completely agree with this statement.
mbrody Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 The countdown has begun...will sample my first Cazadores tonight. Will I make it through the first third??? Stay tuned...
