mbrody Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Same box code as Bart. Smoked it to the nub. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Strong, yes. Flavorfull, yes. Puff it slow and you will be rewarded with a smoke that is unlike most habanos that I have sampled. Puff it deep and quick, and you will get a blast of spice and power. Totally approachable fresh as others have mentioned. Would like to see how they age. A box would make sense in the locker. Overall a 90. BTW, the DFH World Wide Stout went great with it...
Alberto_Magnus Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Good to see that the 09's are still kicking! I recently had a 07 and it was very tasty (hazelnuts especially) but not *that* strong. In which package do they come with bands? The singles I've purchased have always come unbanded. It's always 25's boxes. Until 2007 they were unbanded, than in 2008 or 2009 they started banding them. I heard from sources close to HSA that after 2004 or so they changed the recipe to make milder and they changed it again to make them even milder around 2009. But not all rumors are true as Bart's experience shows. I've got a 2002 box and I'm almost intimidated to approach it. Reddish wrappers (sangre de toro!) and evil appearance.
mbrody Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Anyone interested in trading an 09 for an 02? I want to see if there is a difference!

Jimmy2 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Overall they are mild the 09 and the wrapper is differant from the one put on years ago the 09 wrappers are very nice looking that was never the norm. Smoked one this morning again at 6:00 am while driving to work with coffee did not feel a thing did not eat anything to..
mbrody Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Lol Jimmy. I would not say that they are "mild." They may not be what they used to be (I wouldn't know), but they are a pretty zippy. The nicotine didn't really hit me. The strong spice did in the first and last third. Middle was mellower. Believe it or not, I get more of a nic hit from an 08 JL#2! C'mon boys...who wants to trade for an 02?

Thanks to Mr Brody i was able to sample my first Cazzy.. And i must say that i smoked it very slow and it was great...heavy leather no spice thru the nose for me...long finish but the smoke seemed so dense in my mouth like it just layed there...very enjoyable smoke...i remeber saying to myself i have never smoked a cigar like this before ever!...just pulled the trigger on a box tonight!!!.
mbrody Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Glad you liked it Brutus. Like Jimmy and others have said, this is a cigar you just have to try...and make your own judgement on!
