After reading Ken’s post about older cigars, I thought I’d break out a VR Clasico from Sep 99.

It was a lovely smoke - touch under medium, creamy, nutty, and buttery, with a hint of white pepper in the final third. Far from over the hill.?

Can you talk about the flavor profile on this one? Those are Sublimes correct? I've had this one on my radar and they're well aged cause they were released so long ago. Love to hear your take.

Yes it’s a Sublimes that started medium and got medium/full as it went. For me I was picking up cedar, leather and earthy flavors. Later a more creamy coffee and a bit of chocolate or some other sweetness. All in all quite enjoyable.

I’ve had this box of TUO OCT 12 Partagas 898’s for a little over 5 years and haven’t reached into it for a long time. Only about a third of the way in but from the start a lot more spice and pepper (but not in a harsh way) than I typically get from Partagas or other Cuban cigars. Really enjoying it as a nice change up from a lot of other cigars. Interested in how it may change as it burns down.

Recent smokes.  The LFDC RE was great.  Sig III was ok, probably still too young.  The real surprise was the RJ Petit Julietas a friend gave me.  It was quite good.

Wasn't convinced when they first came out. But with a little age now these have become really decent smokes.

Smoked on successive days, and while - apart from the similar format - certainly very different cigars, at a fraction of the price of a CORO, I must say, this shortfiller Petit Robo was not only on a price-related scale but also in absolute terms a tad more enjoyable than that CORO.

After work smoke. Dry boxed for a week, this smoke needs rest. Was watering the garden while smoking, and may have been too fast on a few puffs, but it definitely needs time. Have a good one fellas.
