He will be missed what the hell was he thinking !! ?

Yea I agree. The guy was 72. Maybe he lost all his money in the Madoff scam or something like that. He did have substance abuse problems but I was under the impression he was over that. I dunno. . .

For those interested, earlier stories on yahoo had more detailed descriptions of what the hotel found and indicated autoerotic asphixiation as cause of death. A lot of that information has since been removed from most of the reports.

sad. here is the report from out paper.

ACTOR David Carradine, star of the Kill Bill movies and and Kung Fu TV series, has been found dead naked after reports claiming an apparent sex act went wrong - similar to how INXS singer Michael Hutchence died.

Carradine, a legendary figure in cult movie and TV circles, was found hanged in a wardrobe of his Bangkok hotel room. The US embassy in the Thai capital confirmed the death of the 72-year-old Carradine, who was in Thailand to shoot a film called "Stretch".

Police said Carradine's body was found around 11.30am local time on Thursday hanging by his neck in the closet of his hotel room.

"He was found in his hotel room in Bangkok but the cause of death has not yet been established," an embassy official said today.

The officer responsible for investigating the death, Teerapop Luanseng, said: "I can confirm that we found his body, naked, hanging in the closet."

Local police officer Pirom Janthapirom, adding that security cameras showed no one else going in or out of Carradine's room, said: "We suspect that he committed suicide by hanging himself.

"There is no trace of fighting in the hotel room and the room was locked from inside," he said, adding there was no sign of bruising on the deceased's body.

"We are investigating from where he got the rope because it does not seem it was from the hotel", and all of the actor's personal belongings "were intact", Pirom said.

But police sources have told The Sun in London that Carradine may have died after he attempted an erotic asphyxiation act when he wrapped a cord around his neck.

A police officer said: "A rope was attached to his neck and also to his penis".

Lieutenant Colonel Pirom did confirm the rope was connected to his neck and other parts of his body.

The Carradine death will revive memories of how Michael Hutchence dies in similar circumstances in Sydney in 1997 - after having been found hanging from the back of his hotel room door amid claims of a sex act gone wrong.

The producer of "Stretch", French firm MK2, said Carradine was found at the Nai Lert Park hotel three days before the end of filming for the movie. A spokesman for the company said Carradine's death "could be accidental".

A spokeswoman for Carradine's Los Angeles agents said the "circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown."

"The Carradine family is devastated by the news of David's passing," said Julie Nathanson. "There will be no further comment until more information can be confirmed."

Carradine's manager, Chuck Binder, paid tribute to the actor, telling the BBC: "He was full of life, always wanting to work ... a great person". He strongly rejected the proposition that Carradine could have committed suicide.

Carradine was the son of prominent actor John Carradine and part of an acting family that includes brothers Keith Carradine and Robert Carradine.

He was born on December 8, 1936, during Hollywood's "Golden Age" of cinema, though he first entered showbusiness through musical theatre on New York's Broadway.

While best known for his role as the fugitive half-Chinese Shaolin monk Kwai Chang Caine in the 1970s TV drama "Kung Fu", Carradine had a long a varied career in film.

He appeared in Martin Scorsese's "Boxcar Bertha" in 1972, and played legendary folk singer Woody Guthrie in the 1976 film "Bound for Glory", which gained him a Golden Globe nomination.

The following year, director Ingmar Bergman called on Carradine to play a wandering out-of-work American Jew in poverty-struck Weimar Germany, for the movie "The Serpent's Egg."

Swedish master Bergman was said to have entrusted Carradine to take the role for his commanding physical presence, recalling that of his father.

In the following two decades Carradine continued to work, but failed to find success outside of cult "B movies," as he was beset by the use of drugs and alcohol.

In the mid-1990s, he reprised the role as Kwai Chang Caine in "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues," which found home on US TV for a further 60 episodes.

A huge fan of his B movie work during the 1980s and 1990s, director Quentin Tarantino called on Carradine to play the title character in the 2002-2003 revenge-action-epic "Kill Bill" and "Kill Bill II."

Carradine's work on the movies earned him a fourth Golden Globe "Best Actor" nomination.

Married five times, most recently in 2004, and the father of two daughters, Carradine was still working at the time of his death.

Sad and hard to understand, but......... not to be morbid, it's one thing when you call your own number. I can't help but think of all the folks on

the air france flight out of Rio, who I have to believe had all intentions of sticking around. I feel much, much worse for all of them and those

who cared for them. Not judging at all - just thinking out loud.....

colt, i completely agree. sad all round but exactly right.

i never understood the wailing and fuss that went on over heath ledger. bloke who had everything and tossed it away, compared to so many who pass without a moment's sympathy. just beyond me.

Yeah Ken, I'm certainly not trying to trivialize anyone's passing, but I totally agree - I don't always understand why there is so much said about

"celebrities" when so many "regular" people pass on every day. I can't begin to imagine what it would be like for anyone on a plane, or in any

such scenario where they have no control. It's a sickening thought.

I thoroughly enjoyed David's work.

Loved Kung Fu and 'The Legend continues' works along with Kill Bill.

A very under rated actor as far as I am concerned.

Whilst it is hard to believe that he could commit suicide, its equally hard for me to understand when fans can say 'He wouldn't have done it, it's a conspiracy, someone else killed him'.

Nobody knows how their idols behave when off the camera and considering he did have past substance abuse, one could possibly believe he may have relapsed?

Then again, perhaps someone did kill him....? :o

I hope there is a conclusion to this and if foul play is involved, they catch who did this.

All in all, I hope David Rests in peace.

"Stretch"? This reminds me of a comment by the actor Laurence Fishburn, "It wasn't so hard for me to get into character; I just had problems getting out."

From FOXNews..

Police Lt. Gen. Worapong Chewprecha told reporters that Carradine was found with a rope "tied around his penis and another rope around his neck."

"The two ropes were tied together," he said. "It is unclear whether he committed suicide or not or he died of suffocation or heart failure due to an orgasm."

Maybe David was onto something? ;)

A little off topic but....

In pharmacology, all drugs have a generic name.

Panadol is Paracetamol, Amoxil is Amoxicillin.

Nurofen is ibuprofen and so on...

The federal drug administration has been looking for a generic name for Viagra and announced that it has settled on; Mycoxafloppin.

Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Mydixadud, Dixafix and of course, Ibepokin. :D

I think Mr. Carradine's death is sad and tragic.

I doubt he was trying to take his own life. He had too many opportunities to do so previously. Whatever was going on, I think it is far too easy to sit in judgement from the armchair critiquing him or others. News reports and police reports (in some parts of this world) often can't be trusted. Who knows what really happened? Does it matter ultimately? Maybe yes, if he was killed, but otherwise, it is not really anyone's business.
