I realize this post may sound sacriligeous for some. But I'll raise the topic anyway at my own risk.

Has anyone noticed that the first cigarette you smoke after a cigar is always extremely tasty? I'm trying to work out what it tastes like, but can't put my finger on it... It's weird, kinda metallic or something. Maybe a touch of rocket fuel or something...?

I would disagree, as the cigarettes I smoke after a fine Cuban tend to taste like hell and all its nasty stuff. Probably due to the sharp contrast in the quality of tobacco.

Could it be the dl-Citronellol which my pallate was picking up? I heard it has flavour enhancing properties.

I knew this post would get some ironic responses. But I still stick by the fact that the first cigarette after a cigar is tasty! Surely someone can agree with that? ;)

I guess it could depend. Do you smoke a mass market brand or an all natural tobacco brand. I know American Spirit used to make such at thing but don't know if they're still around. Maybe Davidoff makes one now.

What I think is interesting is even though a cigarette is rolled up tobacco that you smoke (arguable) and a cigar is the same, most cigar smokers despise cigarettes, and many cigar smokers have never smoked a cigarette. To go further off tangent, it's kind of why I have mixed feelings about anti-smoking laws; I would love to see cigarettes banned, but want to be able to smoke a cigar anywhere LOL. Lastly, if I were to open up a "cigar bar", I would not sell cigarettes nor allow them to be smoked in my establishment. Sorry to hate on cigarettes in your thread, but I couldn't help myself!

try smoking some cohiba cigarettes, they are the best of the cuban brands that ive been able to get my hands on.

they smell like a cigar, both when you open a fresh pack and while you are smoking them.

strongggg as hell though, im pretty sure they are just random clippings from cigar production waste tobacco, the tobacco in them is all super dark brown or almost black, unlike regular cigarettes.

I don't like cigarettes, but, I don't believe the rights of smokers should be taken away because others find it offensive. This is the exact problem we are all facing....

never had a cigarette in my life and never will. detest the things.

think how much easier a cigar smoker's life would be if there was no such thing.

I had cigarette once, got the point moved on...

lol! Guys, thanks for your responses! I smoke Kent Nanotek Black (I think it's specific to the Eastern European market only). And I swear it tastes relaly good after a cigar!!

The responses were quite funny, as I'm sure there are hundreds of cigarette smokers on the website, however, the only people who responded were those who are strongly against smoking. The ones who smoke seemed to be too ashamed to admit it!

I'm more or less FOR a smoking ban in restaurants etc. However only if it excludes cigarettes, and not cigars! I don't think other people need to be breathing in cigarette smoke... Haven't been to Australia since the ban took place, what's it like now? How can places like Fidel's at Crown survive, or, for example, the Supper Club on Collins St. Can't imagine Melbourne without these places!

Fortunately, in Russia, you can smoke everyhwere. You can hardly even find non-smoking areas in restaurants here. I prefer this attitude to be honest. Although it doesn't help to create a "healthy" population, I feel like I have more of a say in my own life choices.

I tend to agree, given a choice between 100% non-smoking and 100% smoking allowed, I prefer the latter.

Exactly, I dont have to go to the restaurant. I can choose to eat at home or breath in smoke. I hate cigarretes but just about every time I breath it in its because I choose to. If someone lights up a smoke in front of me on the street I have a choice to run around and in front of them to avoid it. Should I choose to be lazy and walk behind them I dont have the right to ***** and moan about it. I used to smoke cigars in a park by my apartment in NYC and sure enough every time someone would walk by and make a face. Give me a freaking break, if you hate it that much hold your breath and walk past. Well thanks for allowing me to rant, I feel better.

I agree completely. When I've smoked a cigarette after a cigar I tasted burnt paper, chemicals, and sadness.
