El Presidente Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I think I can remember every truly great cigar I have ever had (perfection). Maybe a dozen in total. The Cohiba Gran Reserva of this year was simply a benchmark I will never forget.

smk819 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 A Bolivar Tubos #1 that I had in Whistler, BC. It just exploded with a multitude of stewed fruit flavors. I had it with a 40 year old Vintage Port that I don't remember the name of now, but the combination was spectacular.
ucmba Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 so tough to say, but I remember vividly recent cigars like: Dunhill Malecon, Cohiba Lancero (cello), CCE (cello), Romeo Fabulosos were some of the tops!
billfish Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Cohiba Robusto in 1997 while laying in a hammock at a friends house on Magdelena Bay/The Corridor just outside Cabo.........a time slightly before they put up parking lots and neon signs. Saw every star in the universe and a few that decided to fall. This smoke was almost better than what came later.
HawaiiBill Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Its virtually impossible to nail down only ONE "best", especially since even very good cigars can taste like all time classics when combined with great friends, environment, etc. My FIRST Cuban cigar was a BPC in 02 and at the time was by far the best cigar I ever smoked. Especially since I had been ripped off with fakes for the two previous years and had concluded Cubans simply were not that good. My next best was an 02/03 Party 898Varn. It was the first time I experienced the evolution of flavors throughout each 3rd of cigar. The 02 RASS with red wrappers were my next "best" cigar. Since then I have some truly amazing cigars, but its hard to rate one over another. Custom rolled from Hamlet's and Rodolfo been exceptional. For reg production I some of the many "best" have been early 90's MC2, 98 Fundadore, 01 PLPC, RA 898V & Beli, 97 Cohiba cor esp, late 90 Party ser du conn1 and.........ER?.....I could keep going!........its tough question to answer!
GTS21 Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 A couple that come to mind.... 70s Por Larranaga corona 1992 LFDC Short Churchill 70s Por Larranaga Magnum Cohiba Corona cello All stellar sticks, hard to choose just one!
SpeedyGonzales Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 This is a very fine idea I´d likely steal for our german forum over at „Havanna Cigar Club“ ;-) (if you don´t mind) I remember having quite some „best“ smokes – smokes I wouldn´t have cared to drop dead afterwards. There have been Partagas SdC #2, Bolivar GM, RyJ Hermosos #1 EL03 and a Jubilee Churchill made for celebrating the 10th anniversary of german importer „5th Avenue“ among that. Maybe the most memorable cigar ever was a simple Fonseca Cosacos I had up on Table Mountain, Capetown in July ´07 ;-) Greets, Speedy
Ethernut Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Dont remember when or where but remember a CoRo that was unfrigginbelieveble. (but so does most everyone who likes CoRo's)
smll2 Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Hey Gentle men, Let me know the your best cigar in life. Mine is Siglo1 which was my first cigar. I think I've smoked better cigars than it, but It's most memorable. I have had many great CC cigars over the past several months. I'm a novice and am in the perverbial learning mode at the moment. I've pondered this question posed by Yossie's post for several days and I'm not there yet as far as chiming in. I can however say without a doubt the best cigars that have made it myway come from FOH. I appreciate the quality of product, service and attitude of all that walk the isles in the Kingdom of OZ, Rob, Lisa, Smithy, Minismity and Diana... I feel very lucky to have discoverd this site and forum. Hats off to you folks for an all around job done to perfection. Tom
aavkk Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 1986 La Escepcion Longos thanks Brian! Just magnificent!
Laxman Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Would have to say that in the Mid 90's Cohiba Robusto's or Monte #2's where slamming, though that was when I started smoking cigars, but have spoken to a few people that agreed with me. As of late, would have to say Cohiba Grand Reserva's have been pretty special.
Freddy Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I guess I would have to say it was the first Cuban I ever smoked (you always remember your first time, right?) It was in the early 80's at a resort in France: the cigar was a Davidoff Dom Perignon.
prshah25 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Hey Gentle men, Let me know the your best cigar in life. Mine is Siglo1 which was my first cigar. I think I've smoked better cigars than it, but It's most memorable. I have a tie- Romeo tubed churchill from 1985 and Cohiba 2001 piramides LE...both were phenomenal...
prshah25 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 2004 Cohiba Sublime I savored in Bora Bora while on my Honeymoon. yea thats a good cigar too..I have a whole box of those babies...
prshah25 Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 they are crackers. also the partagas pyramide LE from 2000. I would suggest the cohiba 2001 piramides...
cigcars Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 i have also been very fortunate to have had some pretty rare habanos.my best experience relating to cigars was last august when i took the trip out to ohio to attend da klugs shack herf IV. i had two of my best cigar smoking experiences that weekend and many smaller moments in between the two large ones. NO.1: at one point in the night i had 3 amazing cigars in my hands at the same time. these cigars were a "1492", a "1994" and a "cubatobacco 25th anni" (the holy trio)! i was speechless as i enjoyed a little bit off of each one, back to back. to get such amazing cigars at one time is unbelievable. all three of these cigars were amazing in thier own way. to be able to enjoy them all at the same time was something i will never forget and most likely will never happen again! No.2: on the same night as No.1, a group of about 8 of us went and formed a small circle at the end of a da klugs pier (more like a peninsula). we had such a great time and the weather could not have been better! the breeze from the water and the sounds of nature topped off the setting. we all pulled out great cigars. i had a dunhill mojito i had been saving just for an occasion like this. after a few minutes i was handed two other cigars. here i was, for the second time on the same evening, holding three of the most amazing and coveted habanos around. it was a "dunhill mojito", a "dunhill estupendo" and a "dunhill cabinetta"!! i could not believe that i was so fortunate to have been able to smoke these cigars and compare them to eachother all in real time.lol throughout this whole 3 day weekend, i was able to meet some of the finest BOTL"s around in person. alot of guys i knew from the boards and others i had only met that night. everyone was enjoying the finest habanos. it was a trip that i will never forget. it's moments like these that you are thankful to be alive. the last morning of the trip, when mostly everyone had already left and we where just getting ready to leave ourselves, some of us decided to have one last cigar before heading out. i decide to pull out a davidoff 5,000. i smoked this entire cigar sitting on the pier and even with my palatte a bit worn out from the days before, i could not get over on how great this davi was! it was just as good as any of the cigars i had smoked this weekend. it was one of the many davidoffs i enjoyed this weekend but it was by far the best. it was so clean and complex. extremely well taken care of and stored properly. the best davidoff i have smoked till this day. smoked some excellent cigars that weekend. met some excellent BOTL's. it was by far the best cigar smoking experience with some of the best cigars i have ever had. (throughout the weekend if i remembered, i would put some of the bands from cigars i had smoked in my name tag envelope, here's a little shot of some of the damage from that weekend) I got an orgasm looking at all those habanas on that site!
cigcars Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 *Before I name mine - I just wanna say...all you FORTUNATE folks who've had Don Candidas, Dom Perrignoms, 1492's, etc. etc.!!! If only I could acquire some of those without having to donate a kidney or something in order to afford one...! At any rate, I can only limit to 2 the greatest cigars I've had to date, as coming up with just one, as you all have shown, is nearly impossible. And those are 1) Bolivar Coronas Extra size Centenary series...ooo la la! and 2) Padron's Family 45 Anniversary. WHAT a SMOKE!!!
ZinZan Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 For me was the Siglo VI, it was the first time i had a cohiba and i was blown away. And i remember thinking, all the hype for cohiba was justified. A close second was the Monte 2.
LeafLover Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 This question is too hard! I'm gonna sit out on this one.
MIKA27 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 For me it would have to be the 2003 Siglo Vi along with a Montecristo D LE2005.
DQ1 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Happened to be playing craps in Detroit on my 30th Bday couple years back. My Dad pulled out a couple Partagas Lusi's from the late 90's...just wish my money lasted as long as that bad boy!
matt14 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 1 `03 Regio (back in `06) dark oily and box pressed square, was like sucking on a piece of lego! Awesome smoke though 2 RA 898 3 01 HDM DC
