phxkev Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Just wondering FOH member opinions on which stick might be the most underrated or most overlooked current release Cuban cigar.
aavkk Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 on the super inexpensive side: PL Montecarlos and R&J Coronitas en cedro, both are very good smokes. for more money check Im a big fan of the VR Unicos, I think it an all around better smoke than the Monte 2 and PSP2 and is my current favorite regular production torpedo. Im sure there are other these are just off the top of my head.
Tampa1257 Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Just my humble opinion, but these are 2 of the most overlooked Cuban cigars: Diplomaticos No.5 Montecristo No.5 These two cigars could be smoked daily and never get old. Great flavor, and great 45 minutes of Habano pleasure!
KB24 Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Monte 4 hardly gets discussed around here and isn't it one of the largest selling habanos around? Also don't hear much about the ERdM Lunch Club which in my opinion is a damn fine smoke.

mkz Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I´ll vote for my usual economic favourite: Partagas Aristocrats
habanohal Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 ill half to go with Sancho Panza Belicosa
bassman Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 VR Unicos are pretty well known. I'd put in a plug for 06 or late RyJ EX#3. Everyone talks about the #4, but the #3 is one of the best corona gordas around.
Van55 Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Fonseca #1 is easily the most consistently underrated very good cigar, in my opinion. The rest of the Fonseca line is also underrated.

anacostiakat Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 I think Fonseca is properly overlooked and rated... Just MHO but I agree. Also I know I might be in the minority with this as well but the RyJ Short Churchill is one of the worst offerings in terms of body and flavor. But! My wife likes them...
Don Candido Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 ... the RyJ Short Churchill is one of the worst offerings in terms of body and flavor. But! My wife likes them... I like RyJ Shorts. I think there is some medium body and flavor there. They are not the pinnacle, but I like them for carry around smokes when I don't know when or where I will be able to light them up.

Colt45 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Well Kev, you can see how subjective this can be - everybody likes something......
SamuraiJack Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 There are always stars and duds within any line, but the best Habano I have had so far, and see few people mention, is an SLR Regios from a batch of 06's. Not a very pretty stick either.

Rarely mentioned. The PC del Punch has been consistantly excellent. I'd look for MC#1s from 06 or later.

Not a very pretty stick either. I used to be a BIG fan of SLR Serie A & Regios, and really stocked up on both from 02 & 03. I've tried some 06s & it seems like there's been a major blend change. The 06s tate very herbal to me. Not a taste I prefer in a cigar.
El Presidente Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Punch Corona/Petit Corona and Punch Petit Corona. Montecristo 1 and 3 There are plenty of cigars which receive the Kudos they deserve. The 5 above however continually slip below the radar.
