love these photos. it is amazing how many people are familiar, let alone places. the grey haired waiter lighting the cigar, from the oriental, was far and away the most competent waiter we have encountered in cuba. lovely man. makes me just want to get on the next plane.

The grey haired man was the Vice Champion of the

World Cocktail Championship. I forgot the yearbut It was in

2000 and something, He made us his "Mojito special" which

was out of this world, the green drink you see on the pics..

Laficion...one of the best photographic series on Cuba I have ever seen and a worthy addition to the Classic Posts forum. You managed the rere feat of capturing the essence of daily life and the strength of a people who live in a very challenging environment.

Well,we finally made it to Havana and as we pause,

many different things are cruising in our mind.

Numerous thoughts accompanied by images that we

have experienced in the last 2 weeks expressed a global

view of Cuba, for us,

A beautiful country with beautiful people.

People who are stranded in the 50's but, have none the less,

a hot blooded and extraordinary hunger for life.

Finally, all of the cubans we had the chance and the privilage

to meet and to get to know, had and will have for eternity,

a beautiful and exceptional glow in their eyes that truly screams

out the hopes and expectations they have in their future.

That's it guys & gals,

It's long but I hope you'll enjoy.
