kirill Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Since I discovered this forum by chance a few weeks ago I find myself coming back and spending quite a bit of time reading reviews and discussions about cigar stuff which is discussed here more competently than anywhere else I know of. Actually this behavior didn't go unnoticed and my girlfriend complained the other day: "You wanna go out tonight or stay at home and watch pictures of half-smoked cigars on the internet again?"... Well, I guess it's time to at least register, introduce myself and say hi to all the other "friends of Habanos" that are interested in reviews, wrapper experiments, vintage comparisons, aging theories, speculations about blend mechanics etc. and that have created such a wealth of information here. I'm glad that I found it and look forward to be a part of it in the future
BlackFriar Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Welcome! Where abouts in Germany do you live. I spent 4 years in Baumholder. Wouldn't recommend that part of Germany to anyone though. :-)
KB24 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Awesome!!! I get that all the time. Welcome brother. -Patrick
shrink Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 "You wanna go out tonight or stay at home and watch pictures of half-smoked cigars on the internet again?" Well, that pretty much sums it up. Good to have you join the rest of us single, divorced, and maritally dysfunctional guys.
gostgost Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 How do Germany? Jersey Here.......... Welcome
Colt45 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I truly enjoy the international nature of FOH. Welcome!
kirill Posted January 26, 2008 Author Posted January 26, 2008 » Welcome! Where abouts in Germany do you live. I spent 4 years in » Baumholder. Wouldn't recommend that part of Germany to anyone though. :-) Hopefully you have seen more than just the barracks while being there, but yes I can confirm that there are some really ugly and boring places in Germany. I'm from the southern part (Baden-Württemberg) near the border to France. 'Heidelberg' usually gives people a vague idea, so I often say I'm from there when travellig abroad, although I actually live about 60 km away from it. tigger Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 » "You wanna go out tonight or stay at home and watch pictures of » half-smoked cigars on the internet again?" Reminds me of someone very dear to me, and of something I reposted to another board that I'll have to post here on a new thread. Welcome kirill! Nice to have you aboard.

Yes, I saw MUCH more of Germany than that. One of my hobbies at the time was hitting all the vineyards on the Nahe. I love German Rieslings, and used to buy them by the crate (when in Germany). Too hard to find any but the most overpriced of bottles here in the states.
Tampa1257 Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Welcome to FOH, I lived in Heilbronn several years and have family living in Bad Rabbenau currently. My spelling could be off. I've spent a lot of time between Stuttgart and Heidelburg. Good to have!

scroggers Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Welcome aboard. I spent 3 years in Augsburg and wish I could go back. A very nice country (except for the weather)

Welcome to the cigar board with "soul!" Glad you made it. And yes, I get in trouble from time to time looking at "cigar porn" online too.... It is all part of the lifestyle, I, (and I am guessing many readers here,) live. I love Germany. I flew in with my wife for our honeymoon, which went onto Switzerland and France. I have only been around Sindelfigen , the black forest, and then on to Basel, Switzerland, but we were driving ourselves around and had a great time! Cheers, DC
