Sandman Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 » Happy Thanksgiving to you guys! » » So what is on the eating and smoking agenda :-) Thanks Prez. Man, I can't wait! Late 06 Punch SS#1, and and a ton of turkey. I bought 2, 15lb free range turkeys and more fixin's than can be imagined. Should be a great day with the family.
tacmedic Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 thanks prez...we're doing the "normal" thanksgiving dinner...turkey, ham, dressing, fresh cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts with panchetta and some roasted beets...on the smoking side i'm thinking Lusitania and VR Famaso...
Colt45 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks. Food will be straightforward turkey day fare, more than likely with more than one bottle of wine, and quite possibly a beer or two. Cigar will be weather dependent, and it's been cold and raw here this week. But if possible, I may go for a Bolivar Corona Gigantes - the perfect cigar for all occasions. And I must admit, one of the things I am thankful for is the fellowship that is FOH. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
stever Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks. Looking forward to getting together with CigarDawg and Matthew this Friday for a mini herf. Hope to catch up on some posts and long overdue reviews over the holidays.
cvm4 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I'm just happy for a good home cooked meal and I won't feel so guilty about over-eating later.

Loki Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks Prez. I just finished preparing the stuffing for tomorrow, my contibution to dinner. I will be spending Thanksgiving at the "Outlaws". Weather in NJ looks OK for tomorrow. I think a Punch DC may be in order. I am going camping with my buddies for the rest of the holiday weekend. We have made this a tradition for the past 16 years. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone.
smokum Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks ...The family and I came to Sarasota for Thanksgiving as we have for the past 6 years. We are having the most perfect weather imaginable . Low 80's and the Gulf of Mexico is just beautiful. My oldest brother is coming down to celebrate with us again for the 5th year in a row. He is a retired career Air Force man with a liver transplant. We cherish every meeting as this is the only chance we get to see each other every year. He is too stubborn to get a computer or e-mail. I brought about 40 CC's with me to smoke that run the entire gamut in brand and size ranges. To date I have smoked about 15 and gifted another 5 to a close buddy. Fundadore last night was amazing. Haven't smoked a bad one yet !!! TSA DID inspect my bag but left my cigars alone thank goodness. I had my Blazer, cutter and poker all packed in an Extreme carrying case and another Otter box !!! courtesy of our friends at Cigarmony !!! Cheers mates....Smokum if you gottum...and hug all your families..from mine to yours !! Bob :EDIT: Oh yeah the food....turkey,Honey baked ham mashed potatoes, pies, and candied sweet potatoes like my mommy used to make !!! Life is good.
Evo03 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Brining the turkey tonight. Deep frying it and smoking a Partagas SD4 tomorrow.
tandblov Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Turkey, stuffing, pie and football. It doesn't get much better...
Smokin Bulldog Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 » Happy Thanksgiving to you guys! » » So what is on the eating and smoking agenda :-) Football and a CoRo, Man it just doesn't get any better:-D
anacostiakat Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 » Happy Thanksgiving to you guys! » » So what is on the eating and smoking agenda :-) Happy Thanksgiving to all the turkeys here! ;-) Thinking of a '98 Punch DC with Cirroc Martinis before dinner. A Sauterne with dinner. Probably a '98 Boli CE after dinner with a coffee and cognac or Molinari Sambuca. Dinner is the bird along with sweet potatoes, my wife's sausage and mushroom stuffing, peas and carrots, gravy and a pumpkin pie with whipped cream. I'll watch Macy's parade in the morning. Some football and then Miracle on 34th Street. Traditions. . . :-D
Thomas Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 » Happy Thanksgiving to you guys! » » So what is on the eating and smoking agenda :-) Turkey, venison,,,siglo 6
wp2 Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thank you much Rob. My weekend is complicated with the marriage of our daughter on Saturday, so hard to say what (if) I'll be smoking.
Moglman Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Happy Thanksgiving!! It was around -8 *F (-13 *C) last night and will be below freezing all day. Since I smoke outside, I don't expect much enjoyment from a cigar today but will be cooking up a nice meal for two.
cptsparkle Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Thanks Rob. We here Camp Liberty did indeed have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional dinner. The turkey was a little dry but everything else was pretty good. The DFAC was decorated pretty nice for the occasion. Sad to say it was a pretty busy day for us though. Several major attacks in Baghdad that ended up in lots of ouch being passed out. No football, spirits or smokes though. Today's 14 hour day didn't have time in it for that. Nevertheless, there's always tomorrow. :-D
habanohal Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Just got back from the golf course. It closed for season now. but still have the flags up. So my 10 yr old boy and I got to sit on a par 3 for 2 hrs to see if we can get a whole in one. No luck, but we did come home with over 700 golfballs to add to his collection :-D
jdbrown Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 A special thanks to you and all who serve our country on this day of Thanksgiving! Stay safe at Camp Liberty! JD
broozer Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 already had my meal for the day with some good friends here in fort worth. i also just polished off an '05 cuaba diademas (these need much more time to balance out). next up on the smoking docket is a monte A. bruce
jsd Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Thanks Prez. Getting ready for my evening smoke (Epi No.2). Today was a great day with family.
smk819 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Had a Boli PC before dinner and a MC #2 after. We had 17 people for dinner, and only 1 other cigar smoker. I gave him a Boli CE after dinner, it was his first Cuban cigar. I believe I made a convert.
Wiley Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Thank you! Standard food... and I had a Cohiba Siglo IV out in the near freezing garage.
Tampa1257 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Thanksgiving is always a time to enjoy the very best Food, Drink, Family, Friends, Music and of course cigars. Besides spending a grand afternoon and evening with the entire Family of Professor Twain along with a meals that was beyond my dreams and the capacity to feed an Army, we also got a few cigars in during our day together. We started with a Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos. Very nice cigar that is tasting better than I would have expected and IMHO will continue to develop well into the future. Then after a few snacks, we enjoyed a Hoyo Petit Robusto, nice and creamy, woody and very typical Hoyo flavors. Just finished in time to stuff ourselves full of all the Holiday trimmings. Then it was time to ajourn to poolside for after dinner cigars and some Havana Club rum. Now after such a delicious meal, we needed a healthy cigar so out come a couple of Ramon Allones Estupendos. All I can say is that these Estudendos lived up to the RA potential and were and absolutely lovely cigar. Capping the evening off with home made from scratch Pumpkin Pie was purly delightful! Hope that everyones Thanksgiving was as spendid as the one I just enjoyed.
