Classic. If what I've read is correct, the director, James Nguyen, once deflected feedback from the cast in one of the sequels by saying something like, "Don't question me, I'm a franchise director!"

No, I haven't heard of it either. Sounds like a campy homage to Alfred Hitchcock's, 'The Birds'. You know, one of those "it's so bad, it's good" films.

I think you're overshooting this one a bit. The trailer has paralyzed my "start movie" button-pushing finger. I'll let you go first :rotfl:

I'm assuming Steve has a Tubi account.

Oh and btw, there are 2 sequels; Birdemic 2: The Resurrection and Birdemic 3: Sea Eagle.

And yes, I have watched all 3.

You are a trooper! I'll bet I'm not the only one on pins and needles awaiting your review. 😁

I don't have a Tubi account, didn't even know about it... looks great, though (Thanks, Fuzz). I track everything down on YouTube usually.

Crap movies are something of a hobby. Back in the day, we used to go Video Ezy (Australia's first Blockbuster type store) and rent a heap of $99c Z-grade movies just to see how bad they could actually get. Piss funny. Great fun. :D

we used to do the same thing. some were truly awful. i remember some caveman "epic" where the hero was shot through the head with an arrow, but lived and was running around, supposedly with the arrow through his head, but the strap across the top of his head trying to hold both bits would keep slipping and he had to keep adjusting it. clearly, no money for a second take.

but the all time classic - so good i needed to buy my own copy in the end - "Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death". a true timeless classic. actually starred a very young bill maher, in one of his very few roles in film where he did not appear as himself. i'm guessing this was not how he got his star in hollywood.

Man, I can’t believe I've never heard of this! Just the trailer is non-stop laughter as soon as i hit play. It's right up my alley, but not sure where to watch.

Thanks for this!

That is a good one.  Another winner is Reform School Girls starring Wendy O Williams ( the real deal , she was awesome!).

I have the Tubi app on my TV. Whenever I am bored, or I can't figure out what to watch at 2-3am in the morning, I jump on Tubi to see what terrible cable TV movie they have. A lot of films are made for cable TV, just because they have to have something on at all times.

I got hooked on watching films made by The Asylum. They are one of those production studios that makes cheap ass versions of Hollywood films (aka Mockbusters like "Atlantic Rim", "Ballerina Assassin", "Evil Nun", "Android Cop", etc). They are the ones that also gave us "Sharknado". Mind you, they also have some good TV series, e.g. Z Nation.

Birdemic is obviously a rip off of The Birds. I mean, it even had Tippi Hedren in it!. And yes, it does fall into the category of a train wreck that you just can't help but watch. Your local high school AV club could have made a better film. Half a bad romantic film, the other half a crap horror film. The next 2 films are taking the micky of the first film and just a gratuitous money grab. A steaming pile of manure is more watchable. Whoever funded the films on Kickstarter should have their money taken away.
