My lit teacher in high school heard me singing "Sad But True" by Metallica. He told me a friend of his (who was a proclaimed big fan of Metallica) SWORE the lyric was "sad patrol", haha!

'Our Lips Are Sealed' by the Go-Go's. I had a friend who swore it was 'Alex the Seal' for years!

Another one would be 'Kissed by a Rose' by Seal. (No pun intended there!) To this day no-one knows if he's been kissed by a rose on the grey or on the grave.

A pretty nurse was selling puppies from a tray.

This one's a biiig stretch, but this is how my BIL's ear works:

Due to the autotune at ~ the 2:30 mark in Daft Punk's Get Lucky, he instead hears 'we're up a Mexican cupcake', whatever that is. 😜 :rotfl:

I've queued it up.

Cheers!

Revved up like a douche...

there is a story about manfred mann doing this and not liking some of springsteen's original lyrics and changing them. bruce was apparently not happy with their version.

many years ago, travelling in africa with a bunch of people including a number of canadians. one day, one of them asked me why australians hated fat canada heywood. and who was fat canada heywood? i had no idea but we all kept coming back to it trying to work out who on earth fat canada heywood was and why we hated them.

finally, one day, one of them said that it was in an aussie song. they eventually remembered the lyrics...

"she don't like fat canada heywood"

i'm sure all aussies will iimmediately see the problem. i laughed like a drain.

He may not have been but I am not a fan of the original version. This one had atmosphere.

always liked Manfred Mann's version but the best version by a squillion miles for me is the springsteen Live in Dublin. he does a very different cover of his own song. love it. go to 1.51.40 in the video below. so different to both versions. or better still, listen to the lot. amazing energy and they just look like they are having so much fun. you can almost imagine being in a smoky crowded pub while they played this.
