Was saving this one & decided to light it up over Christmas weekend. Cigar of the year for me. Cigar Aficionado was not far off on their assessment. 95+

Cohiba Medio Siglo (PEU? ENE 24) - magnificent cigar! Great from first puff to the nub. Cedar, burnt caramel, coffee bean. Great construction too - no touch ups and two ashes only. Youthful but very smooth.

Speaking from a small sample size, but Cohiba from the 20's seem to be smoking very well young whereas previously I found they always needed 5+ years to hit fully their stride.

Just to confirm, you’re saying after 2020 cohibas smoke good young? Because I have some cohibas in the humi but all I hear is to let them sit forever.

I just smoked my first BR 109 No. 1 (have had plenty of the No 6), and it was an absolute 94. Rested for 3 months in my humidor, and it was fantastic. As they say in Hollywood, no notes!

In my experience they really start to come into their own after 5 years. I think what he mean is some of the newer ones can be smokeable and even good with just a year or two on them…but those same cigars will still be even better with more age.

Yes sir. I have found them more approachable young in recent years.

...To be fair, expectation plays a large role, especially for initial impressions. Being so surprised by something that was once (or still) considered simple, is a great influence.

I believe those are Kingdom of Saudi Arabia custom rolled Cubans.

Yes to the observations above. They were gifts enjoyed with a few friends of the original gift recipient, who we lost in 2024. Their wonderous flavors were bittersweet as a result, but stunning all the same.

Love the nails in the bottom of the old boxes; and then the unbanded cigars inside of em......a much more simple time. 

As fort he cigars, I've got some desDieux from that same month and year that have been real hit or miss for me. The good one have been amazing but the bad one are nothing but hot air.....
