El Presidente Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 This series seeks to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world. To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well! Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor) 4-6 (Average to good) 7-10 (very good to excellent) Use the Poll. You are more than free to comment away Today: Bolivar Corona Junior I have said it before but Cuba are the kings of blending brilliant Half Coronas. Rolling them (QC)...not so much. Love the BCJ when it is rolled correctly. It could be my favourite of all the HC. Outside of the poll, which do you prefer and why? Let us know in this thread
Li Bai Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I'd have a hard time choosing which minutos is my favorite, I love those nearly as much as the Party Shorts and I must have been lucky because I've never had a bad one. If they came in 50 cabs too it would be a tie for me. 2
Tunkat92 Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I love these. Very similar to the PC but seem to be smoother fresh and more consistent. 2
smashed Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 I've actually never had these and decided to grab a box from this week's 24:24. Looking forward to it. 2
JohnS Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 I acquired some Bolivar Coronas Junior around four years ago and have been pleasantly surprised every time I reach for one. Under-rated cigar in my view. 2
griller Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 Great cigar but my box (2021 I believe) has supplied a few plugged vitolas unfortunately. When they're "on" the flavors & profile fit my palate quite well. Have buried the rest of the box in an effort to get some more age on them. 1
Popular Post GVan Posted October 26, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 26, 2025 Absolutely one of my all time favorite cubans when I only want to smoke an hour or less. Started collecting these back when I first joined FOH and read some of the recommendations from @Chibearsv @joeypots @djrey @Bri Fi and @Chas.Alpha who turned me on to the MSU May & July box codes! Back before Cigar-Armageddon, I was buying two boxes of these for $250 - a great 45 minute Cuban cigar for $4.90 each. These were one of my best collecting decisions; between 2018 and 2021 I bought 15 boxes. This was back in the heady days when vendors would work with you to select the best box codes. I bought as many MSU codes as I could find and then switched to the TUA codes in 2020 and 2021. The 2019 May, July, Aug and Oct MSU codes produced some of my most flavorful and consistent cigars in my collection. I only have one box of the MSU-OCT-19 left and I'll admit I have been saving these for myself. Will be another year or two until I crack into the TUA codes and can only hope they are as good as the famous MSU rolls. BCJ's are good with coffee at 120 days, very good evening cigar at 2 to 3 years and cross into spectacular anytime cigars at > 5 years. When they're young I'm pretty much always drinking something with a BCJ. Past 5 years they are smoked all by themselves to savor the flavor. Not a lot of transitions in a small format but just a really good cigar. At the rate that I'm smoking these, the boxes should last until approximately 2030. I keep hoping that prices will become more reasonable and we sort out the shipping issues because at some point in the next 2 to 3 years I will need to restock. 6
