MoeFOH Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Movies continue to be slim pickings, these days... it seems so rare now that genuine quality films roll out on even a semi-regular basis. That said, I am looking forward to One Battle After Another. Hoping this delivers on the hype. 🙏 TV series on the other hand seem to hit the target more often... I eagerly await the next season of Landman (how good is Billy Bob!), and looking forward to taking on the recently dropped new season of Slow Horses. Oldman gold. What are you watching or looking forward to? Post up trailers, etc. 3
Chibearsv Posted October 13 Posted October 13 We went to One Battle After Another yesterday afternoon. It was a very good movie with interesting characters (caricatures is probably a better description) and great dialogue. I'm going to have to watch it a few more times after it's streaming to really dive deep. My wife and I said it was one of the best movies we've seen for years, but we aren't quite sure why. It had a lot of the vibes of different Coen Brothers movies and others. Kept our attention the entire movie. Very farcical, or is it? A conversation piece for sure, but on this forum, conversation about this movie will get someone banned. Tell Chas to have the hammer ready. 2

Re the conversation piece here... yeah, 100%, no need to elaborate . Thumbs up / thumbs down or in that neighbourhood will suffice. 2
bmac Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Looking forward to another season of Mobland on Paramount. 4

Popular Post LaoFan Posted October 14 Popular Post Posted October 14 This is as entertaining as it gets. Some questionable casting decisions IMO, but the story works itself out. Bateman is a brilliant actor. 7 3
GaryK 54 Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Another Taylor Sheridan series. Lioness Season 1 on Netflix (finished on my flight to Europe last week). Season 2 of Lioness on Paramount + is ready to go for my travel to US next week. Not as good as The Jackal, but still very good. 3
JohnS Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Season 5 of Slow Horses. I too look forward to seeing 'One Battle After Another'. If there's one movie I'm really looking forward to, it's Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey (of course). Put it this way, Universal Pictures have already begun pre-selling tickets in July (a year ahead of release) and theatres have already sold out! July 2026 is too far away! 4
Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted October 14 Popular Post Posted October 14 2nd on both Black Rabbit and Task. I give Black Rabbit the win, but Task isn’t too far behind. 4 1
BrightonCorgi Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Married at First Sight UK - we are a one TV house, so I pick my battles. 3
Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted October 14 Popular Post Posted October 14 Also, Landman is coming back for a second season next month. Great Show! 6

Reachmg Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Definitely looking forward to next season of Landman, Mobland, Lioness, and Dept Q. Will definitely check out the others. 1
Li Bai Posted October 15 Posted October 15 In the past year or so I've finished watching The Sopranos, The Wire, Yellowstone and more recently Succession so it's kinda hard to find a show that can keep up. Great thread though, maybe I'll find inspiration here 🤞 1

Very much agreed, what an actor and what a performance... I still can't believe I've waited two decades to watch the show 🤯 2 1
BrightonCorgi Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Reacher is a great series with season 4 coming out soon. 3

Who remembers TV before the Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Game of Thrones, for starters? 1 hour ago, BrightonCorgi said: Reacher is a great series with season 4 coming out soon. All right John, now I've had it. My generation isn't dead yet. I remember black and white TV, warm up time, the white dot, antennas, only 5 channels, etc. I also remember Star Trek, Addams Family, Batman, Dallas, Rockford Files, Magnum PI, Seinfeld, etc. There certainly was TV before the Sopranos. We may be older, but we aren't gone yet. 😁 2
Goldeneye Posted October 15 Posted October 15 When the Blue Jays playoff run ends, I will probably start watching House of Guinness. I heard from a few people its quite good. 1
