I have some:

1. People are in waaaay too much of a hurry. Drivers in California are particularly egregious.

2. People in groups just texting on their phones and not speaking to each other in public, people texting while driving, people texting me novels instead of calling me.

3. Busy bodies. My mom lives in a place rampant in snitches and rats.

2025. When did carmakers decide it was a good idea to push car feature subscriptions

Want heated seats .....pay $10 a month and they turn it on.

Want an extra 40 HP?.....$15 a month.

Want app access after the warranty period? $12 a month.

What peeves me is that in most cases the cars are sold with these features activated and they generally stay activated for the warranty period. After that it reverts to the "poverty pack".

I didn't notice they did this.

I thought it was very cool when I was able to add "remote start" to my car after I purchased it since it wasn't available for my model at the time. I think I paid $299 and did a software update download to the car and it worked.

Must have been a pre-cursor to the monthly fee idea. I don't like it either.

The way that social media fights for your attention annoys me. I actually found this forum in giving up doom scrolling for Lent, haha!

Similarly, media feels cheaper and less thought-through these days. When I watch movies or listen to music, it feels like people cared to get details right. Modern momentum and low barrier for entry with new technology is amazing, but we've definitely lost some finesse.

Seeing people always on their bloody phones.

This x100. I work a second job in a restaurant, and it’s amazing to me how many people - families especially - sit at a table and don’t speak to each other, but are on their phones until the meal comes.

It’s a disgusting result of not having to go outside and make up your own game(s). And it’s not the kid’s fault; 100% on the parents I believe…

Sporting events and concerts - people spend the whole time recording and watching on their phone.

Maynard James Keenan agrees with this 100%. As do I, btw.

1.People that walk their dogs in a stroller like they are babies.

2. I agree as well with whole families just staring down at their phones while waiting for dinner. We take a deck of UNO and play with our girls while waiting for our food. It's a great way to keep them off their phones.

I'm borrowing this (and any other suggestions you may have to keep kids off phones/tablets)! My wife and I are fighting the good fight on this with our 6 year-old, who also happens to be a tech/engineering wiz.

1) my kids taking 2 hours to eat dinner.
2) cc prices.
3) when my wife asks me for advice on a problem but doesn’t listen. (Inevitably ends in an “I told you so”)

Hate and intolerance of differences. Lack of respect for other people's personal autonomy and right to determine their own identity and expression. Generally going backward instead of forward in how we value science and education. I mean, Cuban cigar prices also suck, but that's a drop in the bucket compared to the current culture war.

1. Tariffs

2. The lack of understanding by the general public of who actually pays the tariffs. HINT: It's not who they say it is.

3. The need to check Twitter every morning for an update on how much tariff I might be paying 30-50 days from now.
