Ken Gargett Posted August 29 Posted August 29 just seen the news of the big trade. as a Washington fan, delighted micah is gone from our division- although the divinities still had their little giggle as we play the packers week 2. wondering what dallas fans thought of the trade? fair? happy with it? or more idiocy from jerry?
zacca Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I’ll give you my thoughts as an Eagles fan - I hope Jerry lives to be 120! 1 3

Çnote Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I had no hopes for a serious Cowboy's season, now it's absolute dumpster fire. The NFL is gearing up for Taylor Swift to win the Super Bowl. 2
tbelle7 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 The coaching hire was a good indicator that this season was / is not about winning. The Parsons trade confirms it. 3

I think this is pretty spot on. From what I can gather, Jerry wanted/had a good ol' boys handshake deal. Parsons then decided that he should have some legal representation (wise move) and the two could just never get on the same page after that. I know all the talking heads say it time and time again, but Jerry really doesn't care about winning. He cares about one thing, and that's keeping the Dallas Cowboys on the front pages. It's a shame. And now it's an even bigger shame cause my motor city kitties are going to have to see Parsons twice a year now!!! 1

Chibearsv Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Bears win total odds dropped a full game overnight, not surprising. Monte A just got further out of reach. The green and yellow horde are going to be louder and prouder. In general, sad news but my expectations for this year were pretty low already. 😉 1
chasy Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I'm sort of fascinated by Jerry Jones. I might even argue that it's easy to own a team and try to win. In fact, most owners do exactly that. It's more rare that an owner totally sabotages his own team, makes himself look like an idiot and somehow still runs one of the most profitable franchises. Perhaps I'll rethink my assumptions about business... 1

Ford2112 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 The Cowboys, once America's Team, now America's dumpster fire. 1
targa88 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 The team has never been the same since the departure of Jimmy Johnson - which was probably instigated by Jones...

Woody Hayes Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Parsons was never an elite pass rusher. He's no Lawrence Taylor. 12.5 sacks/year is very good but not elite. Bosa, Garrett, Hickerson are elite but Parsons wanted to be the highest paid defensive player.

But he IS Reggie White good and we all know how the Pack fared with Reggie White on D. 🙂 Also, Oh how I hate Ohio state. 😉

Jimmy called it 'his team' and Jerry fired him. Let's not forget Jerry took Jimmy to Landry's favorite TexMex spot in Dallas.... https://www.fox6now.com/news/dallas-well-known-mias-tex-mex-restaurant-shares-rich-history-with-the-cowboys 1 1
