For those of you who also indulge in chasing the little white ball around whenever you get the chance. What’s a splurge golf course stick for you and what’s an ol’ reliable go-to? Cheers and may the wind always be at your back.

Used to be the PLPC but in these days it's generally an NC Lonsdale or the like. Black Label Trading Company, Arturo Fuente, LFD, Davidoff, Casdagli and Tatuaje all in the last few years mix.

Good recommendations. Thanks @loose_axle!

Before your kind judgement, consider that these are give-aways that go down well with non BOTL, something everyone can enjoy for a big laugh on a golf course.

It also helps that a certain golf-loving president may have favoured them in particular and kept the tubes for personal reasons.

I rarely splurge on the golf course but will splurge at the end of the round. I find good golf course cigars to be a bit larger in ring gauge (hopefully holds the burn better in the wind) and a bonus if box pressed (doesn’t roll around in the cart or wind). My Father and Oliva Serie V are some good ones and I guess a splurge would be Padrons.

Nudies now. The 2, 6, and 8. Used to be any Cuban pyramide.

I've been meaning to order some Nudie 2’s.

Splurge: Punch DC…not too heavy and not complex enough that you need to concentrate on it.

Go-to: any medium bodied NC.

Before Cigarmagdon it was a Hoyo DC on the front nine and one of the other Cuban DC’s on the back nine. These days it’s a couple of large Olivia front and back😰

Any particular Olivia striking your fancy these days? I enjoyed a nice Padron 1964 yesterday on the course.

Lusi + 3, DCs are great golf course cigars I’ve found. I’ve been smoking great cigars on the course here A LOT lately. I love great cigars, why not enjoy them doing something I love? I just make sure I have my cigar clip and all the tools at hand, thank you @Manny Sotelo !  Here’s a 2012 898 from last week. It was a wonderful smoke. It was a gift from a VERY generous BOTL. I enjoyed it immensely!

I'm new-er ish to CC's. Lusi's and Hoyo DC's are my grail golf course smokes currently 😎. Looking forward to trying both. Headed to Bandon Dunes next June, would love to have one of each nicely rested in my humidor before heading out. How about that 2012! Very nice BOTL

With Oliva it’s just a size and price choice for me. I can usually find something heavily discounted. I got some Serie V Special Figurado for a little over $6 a stick, mercifully they’re listed at 60 RG but they’re really only 55 RG. I don’t know if that’s true for all their cigars but I’m sure glad it’s true for this one.

This is my go to on course cigar. I always have a box or two in my humid. The BV560 was always a good back-up.

I just took a Davidoff Escurio and a D4 to the course on Saturday. The Davidoff actually did really well and stayed lit 90% of the time. D4 was good too but I think smoked that one a bit faster so it didn’t have time to die lol. I think I will keep taking the Davidoffs to the course.

I use to smoke the real good stuff on the course but noticed I'm more concerned about cigar than the game. Now it's different.

Monte Open series seems to have been designed for just this purpose. They don't break the bank and have just enough Cuban DNA to keep them interesting.

My ideal is a Half Corona size. Gets you through 5-6 holes. Bit if a breather, then have another one if you’re doing the back nine. I’ve recently resorted to cutting Lanceros/Toros/Churchillls in half and smoking half one week then the other half the next as I almost exclusively play 9 holes. Only smoking NC trash these days as it’s not worth smoking the 50 dollar Cubans on the course for me.

Agree with the above. I’ve never been able to enjoy a great cigar while on the course. I suppose it has to do with attitude and mindset. Usually take something less expensive (?) and somewhat replaceable like a BBF, Epi 2, or D4.
