MoeFOH Posted August 7, 2025 Posted August 7, 2025 We talk a lot about the flavour/characteristic DNA of various marcas and lines within those marcas... e.g. Cohiba honey, VR famosos chocolate, RyJ cherry, etc, etc... So for this comp we take a production Cuban cigar (this week it's the RyJ Churchill), and you pick a single Cuban stick (any marca or vitola) you'd like to cross-breed with it to take it to an ideal blend for you... or at the very least an intriguing experimental place 🤔. And if you think the base cigar is perfect as is, well, think about how you might improve on that . Post up your suggestion and discussion/tasting notes below. All contributors go into the draw for 1 of 3 MOFOH Sovereign Suns 5-packs! Bonus tickets in the draw for current pics of you smoking the RyJ Churchill or your suggested partner for it . Draw done Friday 15th Aug (Bris time) Have fun with it and have a great weekend!

Popular Post JohnS Posted August 8, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 8, 2025 Improve the Romeo y Julieta Churchill? Make it more consistent in delivering that trademark 'fruitiness', preferably a berry fruit like cherry. 3 2
Garand Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 More creaminess in the beginning of a Por Larranaga. 2
Gubbins Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 Also would be interested to cross with Porlannaga, maybe an aged Petit Corona. Adding a touch of sweetness on the finish. As many will say though, I don't really think much needs changing with the RyJ Churchill. 3
zeedubbya Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 The DNA of a Partagas P2, with the bready, toasted sourdough salted nut butter profile added to the Morello cherry of the RyJ Churchill would create a near perfect rendition of peanut butter and cherry jam on toasted bread. This would be amazing— like smoking a grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich methinks… 😋 4
cigaraholic Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 I’d like the vanilla cream cookie of Sir Winston with the cherry of the RyJ Churchill. Who doesn’t like a cherry vanilla cream cookie? 🤪 3
Tunkat92 Posted August 8, 2025 Posted August 8, 2025 Cuaba Distinguidos profile would add a nice complexity to a RyJ Churchill that has the famous cherry note. Nutty, mineral, and creaminess of the Distinguidos just seem like they would work great. 2
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted August 9, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2025 RyJ needs that cherry otherwise why smoke them. And the Churchill is inconsistent. I say give em a little of that Petit Royales magic. 5
Popular Post Lucas Buck Posted August 9, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 9, 2025 Love RyJ Churchills but they could use a bit more strength. They are mild, mild smokes. So how about crossing it with my all time favorite RyJ, the fabulous Cazadores. Match made in Havana heaven. 6 1
westg Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 First thought for me Juan Lopez No 1. If you have an aged R&J Churchill with 10 years on it they are just sensational. Right at the very top for aged Cubans from my standpoint. Cross blend with an JL No 1 keep the Churchill format. Aged for 5 to 10 you would have balance in a cigar to almost perfection. 3
zacca Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Love the flavors but don’t always have the time for them. I’d put it in the casual Sunday cigar rotation so I’ll go Monte Media Corona. 1
Chas.Alpha Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 I’m not much for sweetness, but if they could cross-breed a PLPC with a RJC you’d likely end up with a cherry filled VRF. Just sayin’…
SUP8333 Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Cohiba Maduro 5 Genios + RyJ Churchill, Chocolate cherry 😍
garifo Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 I would do the RyJ with the Bolivar Belicosos Finos, probably in a Double Corona Extra.
MagicalBikeRide Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Would love a little of the good side from an aged Mag 46 - something to kick it up a touch or two.
Chibearsv Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 2019 Churchill is very good. I’d like to see some added complexity like nuts and cream, ala Punch SdP. 4

Deeg Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 I think the vanilla and cream of a HdM EE would be a great hybrid with a RyJ Churchill. 2
loose_axle Posted August 12, 2025 Posted August 12, 2025 I love the RyJ Churchill and a fair wack of the lineup so I’ll vote to leave it as is. 2
Ford2112 Posted August 12, 2025 Posted August 12, 2025 I agree with you @loose_axle. It is a unique marque plagued with i consistency and a lot of filler vitolas. RyJ has the potential to be a top marque IMO with the proper attention. Needs a trim for sure. 1
