MoeFOH Posted Thursday at 11:12 PM Posted Thursday at 11:12 PM We talk a lot about the flavour/characteristic DNA of various marcas and lines within those marcas... e.g. Cohiba honey, VR famosos chocolate, RyJ cherry, etc, etc... So for this comp we take a production Cuban cigar (in this initial case, the D4), and you pick a single Cuban stick (any marca or vitola) you'd like to cross-breed with it to take it to an ideal blend for you... or at the very least an intriguing experimental place 🤔. And if you think the base cigar is perfect as is, well, think about how it might improve on that . Post up your suggestion and discussion/tasting notes below. All contributors go into the draw for 1 of 3x 5-packs of MOFOH Sovereign Suns! Bonus tickets in the draw for current pics of you smoking the D4 or your suggested partner for it . Draw done Friday 8th Aug (Bris time) Have fun with it and have a great weekend! 1
BoliDan Posted yesterday at 02:06 AM Posted yesterday at 02:06 AM Easy Moh. I can only get so excited about a D4/Mag 46. Blend the the creamy and nutty D4 mixed with the brown flavors of a strong Upmann. Tossing in some nutmeg and cafe creme would hit the spot. On the retrohale, the D4 is fresh, crisp and slightly aggressive. Upmanns on the other hand, tend to be warm and mellow. Creating a delicious olfactory balance. 4
Popular Post Lucas Buck Posted yesterday at 02:11 AM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 02:11 AM As I’m no fan of the D4. Any cross would be an improvement! I smoked an insanely great Serie du Connaisseur #1 recently and kept thinking, "if D4s tasted even close to this I would smoke them." So how about crossing this criminally cut cigar (possibly my all time favorite Partagas vitola) with the D4? Could only help! 6
zaca Posted yesterday at 03:50 AM Posted yesterday at 03:50 AM 1) PSD4 × Sancho Panza Molinos SPM tones down the pepper and strength of the D4 with dry wood, bread, and herbal notes; more balanced, less aggressive. 2) PSD4 × Cohiba Medio Siglo Medio Siglo adds creamy texture and sweetness to the D4’s earth and spice; shorter format with a more refined finish. 1 1

Popular Post wjs Posted yesterday at 04:26 AM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 04:26 AM D4 & JL2 - the orange note would be epic. 5
Edicion Posted yesterday at 05:07 AM Posted yesterday at 05:07 AM If I could dream up a few combinations and cross-breeds I'd take: 1) Half D4 and half Trinidad Vigia in a Mag 54 wrapper. 2) Half D4 and half Punch Punch in a Partagas Maduro 1 wrapper. 3) Half D4 and half Connie A in a Bolivar Belicoso wrapper and Torpedo shape. 4) Equal parts of a D4 and a Monte 2, Quai D'Orsay #50 with a Cuaba Traditionales wrapper in a Petit Perfecto shape. 5) A full D4 in a Cohiba Magicos wrapper. 2 1
Redgoldband Posted yesterday at 05:13 AM Posted yesterday at 05:13 AM PSD4 + Monte Petit #2. First time I had a Monte Petit #2, I got honeycomb and this chocolate/cocoa flavor and mouthfeel. Marry that with the sourdough, brioche, spice thing the PSD4’s got going on, and you’ve got a special cigar on your hands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
loose_axle Posted yesterday at 06:53 AM Posted yesterday at 06:53 AM PSD4 x QdO 54. Thicker ringer guage and add that buttery croissant vanilla goodness to a spice, cocoa, coffee and leather treat. Pain au chocolat with a spice kick. 4
ha_banos Posted yesterday at 07:15 AM Posted yesterday at 07:15 AM I'm gonna slit open a couple cigars and mix the leaves. See what happens. 3

Gubbins Posted yesterday at 09:48 AM Posted yesterday at 09:48 AM D4 creaminess and spice with rich stouty Bolivar Petit Corona undertones on the finish would be very interesting. 2
Popular Post JohnS Posted yesterday at 02:03 PM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 02:03 PM The Partagas Serie D No.4 is perfect as it is, and as such, can't be improved because one can't improve on perfection. No need to add flavours to it to make it more complex. Call me 'Old School'! 6 1
Popular Post Fugu Posted yesterday at 04:22 PM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 04:22 PM Given the inconsistencies in Habanos’ flavour profiles not sure I’d be happy with introducing even more confusion there. 😂 1 4
Garand Posted yesterday at 04:27 PM Posted yesterday at 04:27 PM For me, I would like to add some more punch from the P2 and give it a more stronger profile hence. 3
Havanaaddict Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago For me, I would say a D4 and a Bolivar Belicosos Finos! Adding that Bolivar deep earth and richness to a nice pallet coating D4 would make for an interesting cigar that might give you a little bit of head spin 🤪 Adding some sweetness to a D4 would be a good thing. Maybe a Punch Ppunch D4 combo or a R&J Short Churchill combo! 2

Deeg Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I think the bell pepper earthiness of a good D4 would go great with the brightness of a JL1 (which I think has more of that almost acidic orange citrus note than the JL2). That’d be my pick. 1
zaca Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Remember everyone, the exercise is to come up with a new hybrid, not to change the makeup of the D4 🤔

Ford2112 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I have had some decent D4 but never anything above maybe 92 and they have been all over the place for me. I love Partagas and think a more refined blend for the D4 would elevate it to legendary status. Maybe for some its already there. I can't think of another marque I would want to combine with it so I went E2, which checks the boxes as far as a more refined blend. Keep that party DNA! 3
Greenhorn2 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I have some 2016 R&J Churchill that have a heavy cherry note. Cross them with the Famosos. Who doesn't like chocolate covered cherries? 1
BG318 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I was looking through Mary Shelley's Frankenstein for an appropriate quote, but couldn't find one. Just read the book and heed the message. 1 1
